Testimony given by TNA president Dixie Carter to the U.S. House of Representatives's Committee on Oversight and Government Reform in December 2007 points to TNA World Hvt. champion Kurt Angle being suspended by the company.

Angle was arrested in Pennsylvania on Saturday morning and released from jail on Saturday night after being arrested for allegedly stalking his girlfriend, Rhaka Khan, and engaging in a physical altercation on Friday night. Khan filed a restraining order against Angle early Saturday morning, claiming she was in fear of Angle.

TNA president Dixie Carter told the Committee in December 2007 that she wants TNA wrestlers to be held accountable for their actions in and out of TNA's "jurisdiction." She made it clear throughout her 109-page testimony that she wants the company to project a positive image and stay away from the "dirty word" of wrestling.

"If they get into any kind of an altercation -- let's just say boys having fun in a bar fight, it doesn't matter -- it may not be on our clock and they may work for a lot of other people, but it will not be tolerated in our company," Carter said.

She was asked a follow-up question by the Committee on whether the company has "let wrestlers go because of those kind of indiscretions." Carter was adamant they have acted firmly in response, including suspending wrestlers.

"Absolutely. Absolutely. Suspended, let off shows which means without pay," Carter said. "That is a form of suspension as well for a period of time and termination."
