Christopher Daniels says there's a fanbase of pro wrestling fans who are "fed up with WWE" and seek out TNA as an alternative for their pro wrestling action. Daniels pointed to the X Division as TNA's key alternative.

"I feel like there's a fanbase out there that is a little bit fed up and a little bit disenchanted with what WWE is doing and they're looking for an alternative," Daniels said on KPUG 1170 AM this week to promote tonight's Victory Road PPV. "One of those alternatives to WWE has been our X Division."

Daniels said the X Division wrestlers wrestle without "any handcuffs or limitations" every night and try to give wrestling fans athleticism he believes they're looking for. Of course, Daniels made these comment right before the first-ever monthly PPV not to feature an X Division match.

"There is a market for that (X Division wrestling). I think WWE has ignored that market for a long time," he said. "That's fallen by the wayside in WWE's eyes. I feel that TNA has stepped up and made that available to wrestling fans."

Daniels also talked up his match against Matt Morgan at tonight's PPV. He said he's going to employ the classic small man vs. big man strategy of chopping him down to the mat to level the height difference for their match. Daniels was complementary of Morgan as a future star in wrestling.

"Matt Morgan has been touted as one of the future stars of this sport for a long time now. He's a lot bigger and stronger than me," Daniels said. "Probably the biggest guy I've had a singles match against him in many, many years."

Daniels was asked if he typically watches other matches before or after his own match on a PPV. Daniels said he is usually too focused on his own match to watch other colleagues, but he buys the PPVs at home to watch his friends in TNA while also continuing to study wrestling.

"It's real hard to take focus away from what I've got going on," Daniels said. "I pay for PPVs at home and watch the tape after. I try to pay attention to the matches my friends are in and support them. It's hard to be a student of the game without watching other things.

Daniels suffered a knee injury at last weekend's house show tour and did not wrestle at last night's house show in North Carolina to rest up for tonight's PPV match against Morgan. Daniels talked vaguely about his current injuries in the interview.

"It can be a grind. I've woken up very sore and in pain," Daniels said about general injuries during his wrestling career. "To this day, I still have aches and pains that I'm dealing with."
