TNA News: TNA Impact ratings drop 8 percent for Impact following Slammiversary PPV, Interesting quarter hour rating notes Jun 29, 2009 - 5:16:42 PM
The June 25 edition of TNA Impact following the Slammiversary PPV averaged a 1.09 rating, which was down 8.7 percent from the previous week's 1.19 rating.
A good sign was a steady increase throughout the show. The first hour averaged a 1.05 rating and the second hour averaged a 1.14 rating.
The ratings drop continued a week-to-week seesaw battle the past several weeks. May 14 started with a 1.23 rating. May 21 was down to 1.10. May 28 was up to a 1.18. June 4 was down to 1.11. June 11 was down to 1.06. June 18 was up to 1.19. June 25 was down to 1.09.
Overall, the most-recent episode of Impact was down 3.0 percent compared to the previous five weeks of TV and down 7.2 percent compared to the previous ten weeks of TV. Based on the see-saw trend around the 1.1 mark, ratings should be up next week.
Interesting quarter-hour ratings notes
-- TNA was mistaken opening the show with a Brother Ray vs. Brutus Magnus match. The first quarter hour averaged a weak 0.91 rating. This was followed by a 15 percent jump to the second quarter hour for the standard "Main Event Mafia presents: Kurt Angle" talking segment that typically opens the show.
-- The standard Knockouts match on the show tied for the highest-quarter hour of the show with a 1.19 rating. The final segment with Sting taking a beat down from the Mafia also scored a 1.19 rating.
-- Kevin Nash vs. Abyss in the third quarter-hour of the show was hurt by multiple commercial breaks, but it scored the second-lowest quarter-hour rating with a 1.02 rating. Nash was in the highest and second-lowest quarter-hour of the show.
