TNA News: Bobby Lashley updates status in TNA with contract "on the table" Jun 27, 2009 - 1:20:52 PM
Former WWE wrestler Bobby Lashley says TNA has an offer for him to sign, but he has not decided whether to agree to a contract with TNA to wrestle for the promotion.
"I'll say this, I have a contract sitting at the table," Lashley told The Shoot radio show on Thursday. "Has it been signed yet? No."
Lashley elaborated on what TNA president Dixie Carter is offering him. "When she proposed an offer to me, she basically said she wanted me to continue to fight and she wanted me to do some stuff with her program and she would help promote the fights and help build me and my fight career," Lashley said.
TNA started a cross-promotional deal on Friday when they posted a story on their website promoting the Lashley vs. Sapp fight scheduled for tonight.
Two weeks ago, we reported that Lashley would be making a decision within "the next few weeks" on whether to sign with TNA. Based on that math, it's coming down to crunch time on whether he will sign a deal with TNA to mix wrestling with MMA. Perhaps his success or failure tonight against Bob Sapp will help determine his future.
