TNA president Dixie Carter says competition is healthy in the pro wrestling industry and TNA is striving to reach WWE's level of market share in the wrestling industry.

"Competition is very important. For the consumer and for the wrestling fan, there is nothing better than having competition," Carter told Hermie Sadler on the latest Hermie's Hotseat TNA video show. "It makes each of us work harder. I know our company will never be satisfied until we are the biggest person in wrestling and bigger."

Carter vaguely referenced past struggles in the company, but said the company believes they have turned the corner to become a viable number two promotion in the industry.

"We've never fired on all cylinders like we are right now," Carter said. "We had some hard times - we really did - but I owe it to all the fans who stuck with us. We never gave up and we never will."

Carter said she doesn't anticipate becoming a regular fixture on TNA TV. She made her first scheduled live TV appearance during the pre-show at the Lockdown PPV.

"Not something I would prefer to do," Carter said about her Lockdown appearance. "I thought it was important, though - with the ratings records in demo, viewership, ratings number - I needed to say it and hopefully will feel the sincerity of what I meant."

Carter and Sadler didn't reference WWE or Vince McMahon by name, but Sadler referenced McMahon's recent comments to a Hollywood trade journal that he found TNA's programming "reprehensible." Carter said TNA was happy that McMahon finally acknowledged their company.

"Great that they finally admit they watch the product. My gut tells me they have been since the very beginning," Carter said. "Calling our product 'reprehensible' when our competitor had been trying to do family-friendly ... I found it comical quite honestly. I just felt like it was one of those comments I was asked to respond to and I enjoyed doing so."
