TNA star Kevin Nash isn't healing as scheduled following surgery in January to remove a staph infection in his elbow. Nash has a "big hole" in his elbow, making it difficult to move the arm, much less consider wrestling.

"It's not healing as fast as I would like it too," Nash told the Bristol (Conn.) Press. "TNA called me and asked when I would be back and I told them I'd be back as soon as I can."

Nash said in a previous interview he's scheduled to face Samoa Joe at the Lockdown PPV in April. He was interviewed in the Bristol newspaper to promote the NEW promotion's show on March 28, but he doesn't believe he'll be able to wrestle on the show.

Nash is on antibiotics to heal the elbow, but he has limited range in his arm since the ball where his elbow bends is gone following surgery.

"I'm doing the best I can do," Nash said. "If I can’t wrestle, I'll still show up and honor my commitments."

It sounds as if Nash will have trouble returning to the ring anytime soon, but he's determined not to quit wrestling yet. He's made up for his lack of in-ring wrestling by doing more mic work on TNA Impact.

"I've been operated on 27 times already," Nash said. "Sure, there is a depression that sets in right away, but once you get through that, you just want to get back."

Nash was also asked about the "Big Lazy" comment Eric Bischoff made about Nash in his autobiography. Bischoff said Nash only worked some of the time and didn't put in a full effort while in WCW.

"When Bischoff called me lazy, I was 7-foot and 300 pounds," Nash said. "When he gets to that size, he can let me know what lazy is."

Caldwell's Analysis: The elbow injury sounds horrific, especially the part about having a hole that eliminates virtually any movement. If Nash vs. Joe happens at Lockdown, it could be another short match to protect Nash. It doesn't sound like he'll be wrestling at the March 28 show for NEW and the April PPV match for TNA could be pushing it too. But, he's made himself valuable to TNA with his recent mic work to show passion for the storylines involving the Main Event Mafia.
