TNA News: Injury report with details on walking wounded after last night's PPV Jan 12, 2009 - 8:22:05 PM
PWTorch has confirmed several injuries on TNA's roster coming out of last night's Genesis PPV:
-Robert Roode suffered an ankle injury during the three-way tag team match. No word on the severity of it at this time.
-Mick Foley is hurting today after landing awkwardly during a table spot in his match.
-Jeff Jarrett was in severe pain today from the suplex he took from Kurt Angle off of the stage where they missed the table and landed on the floor without much of a break to their fall.
-Sting was hobbled due to have having a double knee operation last month in which both knees were drained. The Rhino injury angle was devised to create a storyline reason for his match being short and not particularly elaborate.
-Awesome Kong entered the night with a sore back and over-exerted herself during her post-match angle with ODB.
-ProWrestling.net reported earlier that Alex Shelley entered his match under the weather.
-They entered the show with Christy Hemme and Kevin Nash on the disabled list.
how are they going to write storylines when majority of their wrestlers
injuried? man, Just bad luck for TNA.

TNA could’ve single handedly changed their entire landscape and fortunes
for the new year at 1 PPV
They find out that Nash is not going to make it
Get on the horn call up Flair offer him $$$$ for a month’s worth of
work…4 shows
Have the match start; Foley turns on the front line
Flair comes out clears house…the NC crowd goes bananas…everyone tunes
in on Thursday
Thursday Flair comes out with AJ Styles interrupting Foley and The MEM and
says he has an announcement
Then brings out LAX and then holds up the four horsemen sign
Foley says Flair is too old to be wrestling…he then motions…Christopher
Daniels then comes out
And that is the new group
The Main Event Mafia talks about respect etc etc and that Flair should be
with them
Flair says he doesn’t care about all of that, they want that championship
belt and Hernandez has a title shot
Mentions that Homicide has a X division shot…and soon Styles and Daniels
will be Tag Champions
THEN Flair says while they’re at it…challenges Booker for the Legends
strap, saying…Flair is a Legend
That is the main event for the night
Flair wins…
Next week he gives it to Foley tells him to turn it into a TV title…start
a tourney (then helping push others)
By March the Horsemen have all the Gold, there’s a split in the MEM the
front line isn’t needed solid feuds are in place
Everyone is tuning into impact
Signing an Elijah Burke, Paul London, Highlanders, Lance Cade, maybe a
Knockout or two would be icing on the cake
They could still do something close to this by the next PPV with some fine
tuning

Like I will continue to say week after week..TNA sucks and now even more
with a bunch of has-beens all injured (go figure)...they should collect
worker's comp or just leave the wrestling for good!! I think they damage
wrestling more by being around it!

Ken Atlas, that is a great idea but I doubt they had the time or the money
to pull it off. It sounded like TNA didn't get the final "No Nash" call
until late afternoon on the day of the show. They wouldn't have barely had
time to call Flair let alone convince him to do it or to get him to the
show if he didn't happen to be in town.
As for the injury list, it's not as bad as it seems, at least in the short
term. They've already written Jerrett, Nash, and Christy Hemme out of the
storyline (BTW, why isn't AJ Styles showing ANY remorse for kayfabe
injuring Hemme? He was her trainer, it was his job to keep her safe).
So that's Roode, Foley, Sting, Kong and Shelly left on the list.
If Shelly just had a cold, he's probably fine by now.
Foley isn't a full time wrestler and his injuries wouldn't seem to preclude
him from doing interview segments.
Sting is a champion in a heel stable and such characters don't wrestle
unless they have to, giving Sting time to heal.
Roode has the same heel champion's excuse and can further be protected by
having his partner do most of the work in tag matches.
Kong is the biggest loss of all. Luckily the booking team has done more
than enough to establish her credibility as a monster. What's more, that
woman can loom better than 75% of the male wrestlers out there. All she
has to do is stand there to further a program. Add in her gang of minions
(two of whom are skilled wrestlers in their own right) and TNA can stall
until he is healed or until they know how long she'll be out and can make a
final call at that time.
