On TNA's recently-released Kurt Angle DVD, which runs a whopping seven hours, Angle talks at length about his WWE career, including his mindset transitioning from amateur wrestling to pro wrestling.

It was the beginning of an obsession to become the best pro wrestler after capturing an Olympic gold medal in 1996.

"I never looked back," Angle says on the DVD. "At that point I became the obsessed individual I was before the Olympics. I became obsessed with professional wrestling, with sports entertainment."

Mick Foley says on the DVD that he saw something in Angle when the Olympic gold medalist was set to debut with WWE in 1999. Never one to avoid an opportunity to pat himself on the back, Foley says others in the WWE locker room doubted Angle while he saw potential.

"When I expressed interest in doing something with Kurt, people looked at me like I was crazy like why would you want to do something with him? For a very short time, he got the label of the amateur wrestling Olympic champion who couldn't translate to sports entertainment," Foley says on the DVD.

"Clearly that turned out not to be the case, but for a very short time I was looked at suspiciously because I saw potential in Kurt. Whenever I see something like Kurt's enormous success it makes me feel good because it made me feel like I was a pretty good judge of character."
