The information we've gathered from people backstage regarding the controversy of the Insane Clown Posse and Scott Hall showing up at the TNA PPV indicates this was not a publicity stunt TNA was a part of, but was a publicity stunt ICP orchestrated. To clear up a few issues:

-Sources indicate that ICP called Jeff Jarrett to ask if they could come to the PPV as guests of the promotion. Jarrett said yes, but asked that they not dress in make-up and not be there as celebrities, but just to enjoy the show.

-Scott Hall was not brought up in that discussion and did not have approval ahead of time to be there.

-ICP showed up in make-up with Hall and moved their way to the front row in front of the hard camera. TNA announcers were instructed through their headsets to ignore them as best as they could.

-One of the ICP members threw a cup of soda at Sheik Abdul Bashir. He slapped one of them, but was upset later to find out he slapped the wrong ICP member, one who did not throw his drink at him.

-Backstage, wrestlers and personnel were upset with the distraction but probably more sad than they were upset over Hall's condition.

-Management went to Hall's friend Kevin Nash and asked what they should do about the inebriated Hall. Nash surprised people by suggesting he be kicked out of the building and escorted off premises by Orlando police. Hall was upset with Nash, but left without incident.

-If ICP ends up in some sort of storyline with Bashir, it will discredit the information we have received as it will point toward at least ICP being authorized to be there for some sort of a mid-card storyline. Indications from our sources, though, are that it was not a planned storyline and ICP went into business for themselves despite being authorized only to be low-profile celebrity guests.

-Hall was not scheduled to be part of the Nash-Joe match at any point. Samoa Joe and Nash did not want any distractions and under no circumstances does TNA management nor even his friend Nash want to put Hall in a position where they have to rely on him for anything storyline-wise.

-The joke backstage was that it took Hall a full year to show up for his scheduled PPV appearance. There are still hard feelings within TNA over Hall no-showing last year and nobody is in favor of putting him in a storyline at this point, including - and perhaps especially - Joe and Nash.
