TNA Impact Ratings: The pattern continues with ratings drop after Q1 and below average main event rating (w/Keller Analysis) Apr 18, 2008 - 4:07:16 PM
TNA Impact last night drew a 1.0 rating, the same as last week, which was down from the 1.1 the week before. The show opened with a 1.0 rating for Q1 and once again dropped - substantially - by 12 percent in Q2. It rebuilt slowly to a 0.96 for Q4. Hour two opened with a 1.04 rating and jumped to a 1.13 and 1.10 for the tag title summit and the TNA Knockouts match, but then dropped for the highly paid Booker T and highly paid Sting and veteran B.G. James (average age: mid-40s) main eventing against the heel trio of James Storm & Robert Roode & Kip James.
KELLER'S ANALYSIS By comparison, The Ultimate Fighter on Spike TV the night before drew a 1.1 rating with quarter hours that began at 0.99 and increased every segment to a 1.25 rating. The pattern continues with hundreds of thousands of viewers tuning out in the first 10-20 minutes. There were about 1.3 million viewers at the start, with nearly 200,000 tuning out over the course of the first half hour. Once again, the TNA Knockouts outdrew the top paid men in the main event, which might not have been the case had TNA bothered to give a semblance of hype to it beforehand.
