Sports Illustrated reports today on its website that Kurt Angle is part of a steroid investigation which its headline states "promises to rock sports."

Sports Illustrated accompanied investigators from multiple law enforcement agencies on a raid of the Palm Beach Rejuvenation Center. Excerpt: "It will take weeks, months perhaps, for authorities to sift through the client lists, hard drives, invoices and trash from Dumpsters that were seized in the raids -- more than a ton of documents was confiscated. And when they're through, investigators believe they'll unearth the names of hundreds, even thousands of clients who have received a wide array of drugs; and that list is likely to include prominent athletes."

It cited Angle as being among prominent athletes whose name was found on a similar Drug Enforcement Agency raid last year. Siezed client records revealed the names of more than 20 athletes who received drugs from Applied Pharmacy. The 37 page classified intelligence report reviewed by SI alleges that Angle was among those twenty-plus athletes. Excerpt: "Kurt Angle, a 1996 Olympic gold-medal-winning freestyle wrestler and now a star professional wrestler, received two prescriptions for trenbolone and one for nandrolone between October 2004 and February '05. (Angle did not return messages left with his spokesman.)"

Neither TNA nor WWE was mentioned by name in the article when referencing Angle.

Jerry Hairston, Evan Fields, David Bell, Jose Canseco, John Rocker, and others were among the athletes listed with Angle in the SI story.

HGH, which many athletes use in combination with anabolic steroids to gain increased muscle growth and definition, was also among the popular drugs being distributed via third party distributors such as the Palm Beach Rejuvenation Center.
