ROH/DGUSA/Evolve News: Details on Richards's departure from DGUSA and Evolve, motivation for signing with ROH

PWTorch has learned further details as to why Davey Richards was pulled from his advertised DGUSA and Evolve appearances. As of Richards's last DGUSA appearance on Jan. 23, Richards had assured DGUSA booker Gabe Sapolsky he would be appearing for the company at both of their shows announced for WrestleMania weekend.

Last week, Richards informed DGUSA VP Gabe Sapolsky that he would not be appearing on any upcoming DGUSA or Evolve shows that he had been advertised for. Instead of finishing out his commitments to DGUSA and Evolve, Richards signed with ROH and agreed not to meet his obligations with both companies. As a result of signing a contract, Richards reportedly received a raise from ROH and a bonus for no showing the DGUSA and Evolve events.

There's major heat on Richards from the DGUSA office for not finishing out his commitments. The feeling from DGUSA's side is that he should have finished out his advertised commitments before going exclusively to ROH. The feeling from the DGUSA office is that ROH and Richards did bad business.

According to one source, Richards had reportedly been telling Sapolsky for months that he could build around him in DGUSA and Evolve because money wasn't an issue to him, which was referenced in Richard's email that was previously posted on PWTorch.com earlier today.
