ROH News: ROH mid-week report - News on Jim Cornette, Edwards surgery, Tyler Black return, Aries Lucky Lottery (w/VIDEOS) Oct 1, 2009 - 3:55:33 PM
Ring of Honor has made several announcements this week in the after-math of the Bryan Danielson Farewell Tour coming to an end last Saturday night in New York City. Following are some key news, notes, happenings, and Videos at the end from ROH.
-- New ROH TV producer Jim Cornette will be appearing live at ROH's next shows on Oct. 9 in the St. Louis area and Oct. 10 in Indianapolis. Cornette will be on each show and available for autographs before both shows.
-- ROH tag team champion Eddie Edwards was scheduled today for surgery on his broken elbow, according to ROH. The promotion says he will have "a steel plate and screws inserted into his arm." ROH pulled Edwards from the Oct. 9 and 10 shows. The promotion says they will wait for results from the surgery before determining whether to uphold the ROH tag titles.
-- Tyler Black is returning to ROH shows on Oct. 9 and 10 after taking several weeks off to recover from neck surgery, according to ROH. Black is scheduled to face Chris Hero on October 9 and Kenny King on Oct. 10.
-- ROH champion Austin Aries will defend the ROH Title on October 9 against another "lucky name" to be drawn from his Lucky Lottery Hat. Aries "drew" Bret Hart's name last Saturday night in New York City, but Petey Williams wrestled in Hart's place.
-- ROH posted video of Eddie Edwards wrestling with a giant cast over his arm on Saturday night during the Ladder War II match after reportedly breaking his elbow at Friday night's show.
-- ROH also posted video of Nigel McGuinness's final ring entrance as part of ROH prior to his match-up against Bryan Danielson on Saturday night.
