Happy almost-weekend, Indy Report wrestling fans!
I hope this Indy Report finds you doing well. Did you realize that we are almost to Labor Day as of this juncture? Yeesh! Where did the summer go? Thus, if you haven’t gotten to at least one summer indy card yet, this is your official, “tsk, tsk” from your resident indy event reporter. The good news is, is that you still have time. Make sure to check out a summer indy event before the chill hits the air!
Before I get to another cram-packed edition of the Indy Report, here is cheap plug for the Pro Wrestling Torch newsletter. If you are not yet a newsletter subscriber, make sure to do so asap! Currently running in the newsletters is a series of segments of a multi-part interview Torch editor Wade Keller conducted with Wayne Ferris aka The Honky Tonk Man. For fans of indy wrestling, it is an especially interesting read, a Honky is a regular on the indy circuit, has the benefit of having been years back a main eventer for the WWF, and has an astute perspective on many aspects of the indy scene today. For fans of current-day independent pro wrestling, it is truly a must-read.
One point made by Honky Tonk in the interview is that the indy scene is suffering somewhat currently, trickling down from WWE’s sole domination of the national wrestling spotlight. As such, if you are a fan of the indy scene, or just simply would like a healthy alternative to WWE, make sure to do your part by buying a ticket (or 10!) to your local indy wrestling show(s).
Without further ado, let’s get to this latest Report:
