Outspoken former pro wrestler Jesse Ventura is not sure what next year has in store for his life. He could be in the 2016 political picture, living off the grid in Mexico, or somewhere in-between hitting golf balls into the water in Minnesota.

The Star-Tribune (Minn.) newspaper published a report on Ventura's prospects for 2016:

- One idea is to attach himself to a major U.S. political candidate. The goal being get on a ticket with a potential winner, then push through his ideas on a bigger platform. No one has bit yet, even after trying to use an old wrestling connection to link up with Republican candidate Donald Trump.

- Another idea is running on an independent/Libertarian ticket trying to at least get into the mix of political debates to make his voice heard.

Ventura, 64, is itching to get involved again, but he said at the end of the day both are "unlikely." However, he "would never close the door on the future."

- At the other extreme is permanently moving to Mexico, which Ventura said he would consider if he does not receive damages for his character defamation suit against the estate of former Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle.

The awarded damages were $1.4 million and he says the follow-up appeals process has cost him $1.0 million in legal fees. "If I lose the appeal, I will then move to Mexico permanently,” he said. "It will hurt me so bad financially that I can live off much less money down there than what it takes to live off here."

- In-between, Ventura commented on his golf game to the Star-Tribune reporter: "Now you see what I do in my retirement. Play golf and work out. Write a book once a year. And do my Internet show."

Ventura also contributes to a local charity, which brought him out to the golf course.
