By Derek Burgan, Torch Team Contributor

- H2Wrestling has announced a change of venue for their first show being held on June 26th. H2 stated “Due to situations beyond our control H2 was forced to change venues from the Roxy in Boston to the Somerville Theatre (at 55 Davis Square Somerville, MA 02144) which is just 5 minutes from Downtown Boston in Somerville, MA. All tickets will be honored for this event from the old location. Bell time is 6:00 PM. Tickets are available at www.H2Wrestling.com at $18 for will call pick-up as well as at the door for $20 the night of the show.”

- In addition, H2 decided due to the Democratic Convention in July, that the Somerville Theatre would be a more convenient building to run to ensure the fans face virtually no transportation challenges which they would be faced with in Downtown Boston. As such, H2 was given an excellent opportunity to give the fans a stable location that easily accessible via the T rail system as well as car. Reserved tickets for the July 31st show are also available through H2’s website. As a person who has been to many shows in Boston I can assure everyone that the city can be a nightmare to navigate through even in the best of situations and the upcoming convention is going to make everything a logistical nightmare. The new venue in Somerville is right off the Red Line (part of the public transportation T rail system) and is really a win-win situation for both the company and fans going to the show.

- The Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels has signed with H2 and will make his first appearance on the 8/28 show which is also the show TNA X-Division Champion A.J. Styles will be making his debut. This card is already shaping up to be a can’t-miss show.

- H2 has signed Mike Modest for the 7/31 show. Modest is best known for his role in the documentary Beyond the Mat as an independent wrestler getting a tryout match with the WWE. Modest has an impressive resume as well including running the Pro Wrestling Iron promotion out in California along with wrestling for NOAH in Japan. In fact, Modest held the GHC jr. heavyweight champion for 6 months and is still the only American to ever hold the title. Modest also had a short stint in WCW. The 7/31 show is also the show The Havana Pitbulls (Ricky Reyes and Rocky Romero) will be making their H2 debut on. Advance tickets for this event can be purchased at H2’s website.

- The partial lineup for next weekend’s show at the Sommerville Theatre includes Opera Cup match 1: “Loose Cannon” Teddy Hart vs. “The Shady Show” Jack Evans, UWA Welterweight Title Match: UWA Welterweight Champion Taiji Ishimori vs. Minnamino, “Japanese Daredevil” Kaz Miyamoto vs. Chris Hero, and the following H2 stars: Jillian Love, The SAT: Los Maximos, “Party Boy” Matt Martel, the Backseat Boys, “Lethal” Jamar Cunningham, “J-Train” Julius Smokes, Chris Hero, Sonjay Dutt, Dave Prazak, and Gary Hart/Black Friday Management’s Mr. X.
