WWE wrestler/executive Triple H jumped at the opportunity to bid for legendary wrestler Killer Kowalski's ring-worn boots, robes, and other items during an auction held Thursday night.

Kowalski died at the age of 82 in August 2008 and his estate was put up for sale, which gave Hunter a chance to buy the majority of wrestling-related items. (Hunter broke into the wrestling business through Kowalski's training and has recognized Kowalski throughout his career.)

According to the Saugus (Mass.) Advertiser at WickedLocal.com, Hunter "reeled in several big-tickets items, including the crown jewel of the auction, Kowalski’s first-ever wrestling ring robe for $4,250."

Auction organizers confirmed Hunter was one of the bidders in the online auction after the WWE office was informed of the event Thursday night.

Triple H's other auction winnings included "blue leather size 14 wrestling boots ($650), an additional blue velvet ring coat ($850), and an awards lot, which included Kowalski’s Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame certificate ($175)."
