The "lower extremities" received plenty of attention during the "Tonight Show with Jay Leno" tonight on NBC. WWE Hall of Famer "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and Monday's Raw guest host, Justin Long, were the guests tonight promoting their respective movies and making several references to the male anatomy.

Austin followed Long as the second guest on the show promoting "The Expendables" that opened in theaters today. Overall, Austin and Leno had good chemistry getting over Austin's dry humor and his down-to-earth, post-WWE personality of "I might not be a tough guy, but I played one on TV."

Leno introduced Austin as a "former Superstar in the world of pro wrestling" before dead-panning, "he's going to come out and kick Justin's ass." Leno and Austin opened the discussion talking about Austin's transition to being a "thespian" after leaving pro wrestling.

"Wrestling was the first love of my life," Austin said. "There was a time where I needed to ride into the sunset after I had a few injuries built up. I needed to do something else."

Austin said he spent three or four years doing hunting and fishing, but not much else. "I don't think I missed a single happy hour," he said with a smile. Austin self-deprecated that he was like Jed Clampett from the "Beverly Hillbillies" packing up his belongings and moving to Beverly Hills to start acting full-time.

Justin Long interjected that they have the same exact story. "Kick his ass, he's being a smartass," Leno said. They transitioned into talking about "The Expendables" and Austin working with Sylvester Stallone on the set.

Austin said he plays the role of "Dan Paine." He paused to let the generic character name sink in. "Believe it or not," he said. Austin explained that he didn't sign up for the role because it was dialogue-heavy, had lots of screen time, or for big money, but because he wanted to work with Stallone.

Austin talked up Stallone some more, especially for trying to keep all of the testosterone-driven stars in line to actually get scenes filmed. "For me, a guy who pretended to be a tough guy on TV, it was a lot of fun," Austin said. Leno shot back with a question on whether he could take him. Austin laughed and said, "Ah, hell."

Austin then recalled a story from a scene being shot at 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning where he was supposed to run past a giant explosion. "Everything is balls out," he said about the action scenes in the movie. Justin Long interrupted with a reference to his "penis and balls" story during his segment before Austin's. Austin then finished his story that the pyro explosion "almost blew my left...leg off."

Austin said he "damn near got killed" during the explosion sequence. He said he went back to Stallone, who was chomping on a cigar while directing the movie for a conversation, to get his feedback. Austin said, "Stallone told me, 'Good take; we'll print that.' I said, 'Damn sure, cause I ain't doing it again.'"

Leno tried to introduce a clip from "The Expendables" to give the audience a taste of the movie, but Austin sold bewilderment on the contents of the clip. "Fighting and physicality," he deadpanned, since that would cover virtually every scene in the movie.

Austin then recalled the story on how he broke Stallone's neck during filming. He said Stallone kept asking him to bring it harder during their fight scenes. "I fought Sly for two days. I said to myself, 'If this mothertrucker wants me to bring it, I'm going to knock his ass through the wall.'" Leno sold the humor by pretending to write down notes, "And that was mother...trucker?"

Leno eventually cued up the clip of Austin and Stallone in a fight scene that shows Austin choking out Stallone. It did not appear to be with a tie. The scene includes a head scissors into an armbar from Stallone, then a kick to the gut from Austin, a spear into the wall, guns blowing stuff up in the background, and Austin, who plays a heel in the movie, getting away.

The scene ends with a babyface asking Stallone what happened to him. "I got my ass kicked," Stallone says to end the clip. They cut back to Austin and Leno, who shouted, "Eat. Pray. Love.," mocking the "chick flick" out this weekend competing against "The Expendables" action movie.

As for Justin Long's segment before Austin's secondary appearance, Long shared a story on flashing Christina Applegate "for about an hour" while filming scenes for the new "Going the Distance" movie. Long will be guest-hosting Raw on Monday following Summerslam to promote the movie.
