Greetings Indy Wrestling Connoisseurs, Yes, it is that time of the week again - time for another Indy Report. It was a relatively busy weekend this past weekend in much of the southeastern part of the country for some rather small (but no less significant!) promotions, as Pennsylvania and West Virginia fans had their fill of cards to be able to chose from. I've spotlighted a number of those cards in the "Results" portion of the report below.
This Report's main focus is on some of the smaller indy scenes that do not typically draw the attention of some of the larger, more publicized promotions (ROH, Mid-American, etc.) Yet, for those looking for some bigger names, you may wish to pay note to the recent WWWA card, which featured Nikolai Volkolf and Larry Zbyszko - (whatever happened to the "Living Legend's tenure in NWA-TNA!?). Also, the much-hyped CZW 6/14 show's results are included below.
Finally, from time-to-time I have previously included press releases from promotions advertising tryouts to wannabe / aspiring wrestling talent. I have included two such notices below from WOHW and NEPRO. Thus, for any readers looking to get a crack with an indy promotion, you'll probably want to pay extra note to this column. I've also included a PR regarding a cross-country move for the EWA.

MISC. / PRESS RELEASES
Eastern Wrestling Alliance Moving
Press Release - Portland, ME 6/14/03- The Eastern Wrestling Alliance, a top independent professional wrestling organization in New England / Maine, announced at its 6/14 Strive Center show in South Portland, ME that they will be leaving their Portland homebase effective immediately. They will be expanding their operations in fall into central Massachusetts, as well as branching out into the western part of the state. The cross-country move of one of the EWA's co-owners brought into question the future of continuing to promote the Portland market. The EWA entered into an agreement with Chaotic Wrestling, who will now promote the Portland market in the EWA's place. Chaotic Wrestling utilizes many of the same wrestlers as does the EWA, putting on high quality shows. CW also maintains a wrestling school in North Andover, MA. They have an established history of being a top promotion in New England, with a strong core following at their shows in Methuen, Lawrence and Tewksbury, MA. The EWA believes that Chaotic Wrestling will continue to carry on the tradition of top flight wrestling shows in Portland, and encouraged all of their fans at the 6/14 show to patronize future CW events. The first CW event is scheduled to be on August 23 at the Strive Center in South Portland, ME. This fall, the EWA will begin running shows at several new venues in central and western Mass. EWA wishes both CW and their fans the best.
