WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan appeared on NBC's "Today Show" this morning to discuss in raw detail his near-suicide in December 2007 to promote his new book that came out today.

Hogan was interviewed twice and given 15 minutes of TV time on the show. In the better interview with Meredith Vieira (first video below), Hogan detailed the opening of his book: that a phone call from Laila Ali saved his life as he contemplated shooting himself with a gun.

"If she didn't call, do you think you would have pulled the trigger?" asked Meredith Vieira.

"Um, I don't know," Hogan said after a pause to collect his thoughts.

Hogan added in a second interview (second video below): "It scares me again thinking I could get to that point."

Hogan was asked in both interviews why he would "put everything out there" in his book. Hogan said he wants to be an inspiration with "no agenda" to give people hope that life is worth living.

Vieira, who really captured the story with her questions, dove into the topic of Hogan's responsibility to John Graziano after Nick Hogan's car accident in August 2007 nearly left John paralyzed.

"No, I don't think I'm financially responsible, but I'll do anything to help him," Hogan said.
