Hogan News: Excerpt from Hulk Hogan book - "It had me curling my index finger on the trigger of a loaded handgun and putting it in my mouth" Oct 26, 2009 - 3:00:48 PM
MSNBC printed an excerpt from Hulk Hogan's new book, "My Life Outside the Ring," that focuses on Hogan's alleged suicidal thoughts in December 2007 when he says he contemplated ending his life for two days.
Based on the excerpt printed, Hogan will provide raw detail in the book, which is due out on Tuesday, on his thoughts and reflections as he sat in his bathroom with a loaded gun ready to end his life.
"I could feel the life draining out of me. I could feel myself bleeding. That’s what it felt like: bleeding. Not from a cut on my body, but a wound somewhere deeper. It had me curling my index finger on the trigger of a loaded handgun and putting it in my mouth."
Hogan says he was in a state of depression four months after his son Nick Hogan's gruesome car accident that left his best friend, John Graziano, in a vegetable state. The excerpt reveals a man reduced to a human being with raw emotions far away from the Hulkster image he built up in the public eye.
"In the days after I sat there with that gun in my hand, I realized something: I was sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. If I was gonna keep living and breathing, I had to change things. I didn’t know how I would do it. Maybe I’d have to change everything. I just couldn't take it anymore. I wish I didn’t have to sink that low to get to that point, but that's what it took. "
The lengthy excerpt that includes Hogan saying he overcame this situation to share his story of redemption is available on MSNBC.com.
