Hogan News: New information released about Hulk Hogan's new book delving into his recent "personal heartbreak" Oct 5, 2009 - 1:34:51 PM
The following is a press release PWTorch was sent today regarding Hulk Hogan's new book titled "My Life Outside the Ring" due for release within weeks.
Hulk Hogan, born Terry Bollea, will reveal for the first time the private person behind the very public persona, opening up about his childhood, his thirty-year career, and more recently, his personal heartbreak in MY LIFE OUTSIDE THE RING.
The deal for world rights was negotiated by executive editor Kathryn Huck of St. Martin’s Press with Joel Kneedler of Alive Communications in conjunction with Eric Bischoff and Jason Hervey of Bischoff Hervey Entertainment. St. Martin’s is planning an October 2009 publication.
From humble beginnings, this giant of a man escaped a pre-ordained life of dock and construction work in Port Tampa Florida, to become one of the most recognizable celebrities on the planet. He did it through sheer will, grit, determination, and a drive to always go over the top and do more than what others thought possible.
From the outside, his story was one of a charmed life—he was at the top of his career, had a wonderful and loving family, and a lifelong fan base who worshipped him. Of course he had his up and downs—but it’s been the last two years that have tested Hogan more than any other in his lifetime.
In 2008, while riding the massive success of his VH1 reality show, Hogan Knows Best, his son Nick was involved in a tragic car accident that left his best friend in critical condition. Then Linda, his wife, left him after 23 years of marriage, his beloved daughter Brooke blamed him for the breakup and his son went to jail. The tabloid media had a field day. When unflattering jailhouse conversations between him and his son were released to the press the tabloids were in frenzy. The sudden turmoil and tragedy surrounding Hulk took its toll. He fell into a deep depression, seeing no way out, until one fateful phone call.
Teaming up with People Magazine Senior Writer Mark Dagostino for "My Life Outside the Ring," Hogan will unabashedly recount these events, revealing how his newfound clarity steadied him during the most difficult match of his life—and how he emerged from the battle feeling stronger than ever before.

Then Linda, Hulk’s wife, leaves him after 23 years of marriage, and his beloved daughter blames him for the breakup. His despair builds until one fateful night a timely phone call snaps him out of his depression and starts him on the road of healing. My Life Outside the Ring will candidly and honestly recount these events, revealing how Terry's newfound clarity steadied him during the most difficult match of his life.
