It's the tenth anniversary of The Gathering of the Juggalos this weekend in Cave-In-Rock, Ill., and the headline event of the weekend is BloodyMania III. Let's take a look at the matches:
Heidenreich vs Mad Man Pondo - Will "Little Johnny" be back in order to give Heidenreich guidance in what is sure to be a grueling match up against Mad Man Pondo? A hardcore legend, Pondo has been through some wars across the independent wrestling landscape, including IWA Mid South, but Heidenreich has never backed down in a fight, including against The Dead Man himself. What might put Heidenreich over the top is actually the John Cena movie "12 Rounds." Hailing from New Orleans, LA, will Heidenreich be fueled to redeem The Big Easy's legacy after seeing Cena's Razzie-award caliber performance as a 'Nawlins cop?
Mystery Referee Match! The Ref is masked until the match has ended!: "The Most Dangerous Man in the World" Ken Shamrock vs "The Emo Warrior" Jimmy Jacobs w/ Scott Damore in his corner - A type of match up that you will ONLY find in Juggalo Championship Wrestling, UFC legend Shamrock going against Jimmy Jacobs, fresh off his run in Ring of Honor as the leader of the Age of the Fall. The x-factor here is Scott D'Amore. Coming from a country in which "the loonie" is an official currency, there's something not to be trusted in D'Amore. Will he be enough to help Jimmy Jacobs overcome a David vs Goliath situation? And exactly who will the The Masked Referee be? The Gathering has always been about surprises and this could be the biggest one yet.
The J.C.W. Tag Team Championship Match: Vito & Paulie, The Thomaselli Brothers vs The Weedman and Billy Bong - JCW champions The Thomaselli Brothers have made a name for themselves by carrying JCW tag straps. Weedman, a former JCW tag team champion himself (with The Human Tornado) is looking for revenge after having lost his tag team tile at last year's BloodyMania II. Will the laid back Billy Bong be enough to help Weedman overcome the impressive Thomaselllis?
Toughman Brawl: Butterbean vs Bull Pain - A titanic tussle if there ever was one, this special toughman brawl has a heavy favorite in Bull Pain, who has been around the entire wrestling world. From WCW, to IWA Mid South, to CHIKARA and just about everywhere in between, Bull Pain has fought his share of tough battles in the squared circle. That said, Butterbean achieved a little wrestling notoriety himself as part of the recent Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling show. Will the training from Brian Knobbs and Brutus Beefcake be enough to take on a wrestling who has been grinding it out on the wrestling circuit for years? Can Butterbean's history of Toughman contests, including his infamous knockout of Bart Gunn at a WrestleMania, give him an edge over the hungry Bull Pain?
Abdullah The Butcher vs The Rude Boy - For the first time in JCW history, a SPLASH ZONE has been set aside to warn fans of the graphic violence that is surely coming their way. The weak of heart may want to use this match to adjust their petticoat, as Abdullah and Rude Boy are going to go at it tooth and nail, literally. Women and children should be driven to safety, but everyone else should prepare for an epic "match" in which two men are going to do anything it takes, and I mean anything to take down their opponent.
Raven (w/Sexy Slim Goody) vs Sabu (w/Tommy Rich) - Two ECW legends of the past get back into the ring for one last dance. Can the temperamental Raven handle the "new" Sabu? Will Tommy "Wildfire" Rich be just what the "homicidal, suicidal, genocidal" Sabu needed to slay the grunge dragon? Exactly how much stuff with the Juggalos in the audience throw at Raven?
Loser Leaves Town Match: Viscera aka Big Daddy V (w/ Scott D'Amore) vs 2 Tuff Tony with special guest referee: Terry Funk! - Terry Funk, one of wrestling's greatest legends puts on the striped shirt to call it right down the middle for a battle between two of the biggest men you'll find anywhere on Earth. Years of working hard on the Double Cross Ranch have given Funk the strength he needs to keep a weasel like D'Amore in line, but will D'Amore's sneakiness distract Funk enough to give Viscera an advantage over JCW staple 2 Tuff Tony?
The Main Event Ten-Man Tag Team Match: The Outsiders (Scott Hall & Kevin Nash) & JCW World Champion Corporal Robinson & The ICP (Violent J & Shaggy 2 Dope) vs. "Holy" Trent Acid and his 4 Young Altar Boys (Tom, Todd, Tim, & Ted) - Words can not describe how big this match is. Could it get any better for JCW fans. Scott Hall. Kevin Nash. CPL Robinson. Violent J. Shaggy 2 Dope. All on the same team. Just incredible. The magnitude of JCW stardom on just one side of the ring is just about indescribable. This group has come together to fight Trent Acid and his minions. We don't need Carnac the Magnificentto call this one. Or Nostradamus. Or even Miss Cleo. Justice will be handed down like it has never been handed down before.
