Other News: Brian Blair denies hitting his children in Father's Day Fight; local news runs 911 call leading to arrest (w/VIDEO) Jul 3, 2009 - 2:42:52 AM
Former WWE tag team wrestler B. Brian Blair denies he struck his children during a Father's Day scuffle at 4:00 a.m. that led to his arrest. Blair made the comments on Thursday afternoon after charges of child abuse were dropped.
"I regret the entire incident, I mean, I didn't hit my children, even though it says that," Blair said. Blair says being publicly humiliated after mentoring children for 25 years was tough on him.
Blair's attorney says Blair has been cleared to reunite with his family and resume regular contact after the charges were dropped. His family is currently vacationing.
Blair says the incident didn't seem real when he was taken to jail after one phone call to the police from his youngest son.
"When I first was in handcuffs, I thought, wow, you know this is my whole life is passing before me," Blair said.
The local ABC affiliate in Tampa, Fla. reported on the story Thursday. During their news broadcast, they played a 911 call placed by Blair's youngest son, Bradley, after the incident took place.
Bradley tells the 911 operator that "he's gone crazy." A prosecutor in the family dispute case presumed that Bradley was referring to his older brother, Brett, who reportedly struck and attacked his father in the melee.
