Other News: Child abuse charges dropped against B. Brian Blair for Father's Day incident Jul 2, 2009 - 12:21:12 PM
Charges of child abuse against former WWE tag team wrestler B. Brian Blair were dropped by prosecutors in Tampa, Fla. They concluded Blair was trying to discipline his two sons at 4:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, June 21.
An investigation revealed that Blair's two teen-age sons left their house on Saturday night/Sunday morning, then returned past curfew at 4:00 a.m. An argument ensued with the sons and prosecutors concluded that Blair "took the brunt of the injuries," according to a report.
"The defendant (Blair) began to discipline the victim (Brett) (first verbally and then physically), and the incident was escalated by the conduct of both victims (by repeatedly punching the defendant)," said Assistant State Attorney Rita Peters in a memo outlining the decision to drop charges.
Blair was reportedly treated at a hospital for a "chest contusion" and "abrasions to his back" after the early-morning scuffle with his sons. Authorities concluded his sons "weren't seriously hurt."
"In reviewing the totality of the incident, Brett Blair was more aggressive and hit Brian Blair many more times," Peters said.
