ECW News: Preview for tonight's big ECW Arena Reunion show, Justin Credible interviewed on the show's significance Jun 27, 2009 - 2:45:28 PM
Former ECW valet Francine is running a fundraiser/ECW Reunion show tonight at the former ECW Arena in Philadelphia featuring 30 stars from the original ECW.
The scheduled main event is The Sandman vs. Sabu with Terry Funk as special referee. Other match-ups include TNA wrestler Shane Douglas vs. Al Snow, Raven vs. Justin Credible, and TNA wrestler Rhino vs. Spike Dudley.
Francine decided to run the event to raise money and awareness for cancer research after two family members died within four days of each other from cancer in 2008.
"I decided that I wanted to get the "original" boys back together and run a show at the greatest building in the word to me, The Arena," Francine said on MySpace. "With a portion of the ticket sales going to The American Cancer Society, June 27, 2009 will be a great night for all."
Justin Credible says the event has significant meaning to him because Francine is using the night as a fundraiser for cancer research. Credible's father was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer.
"It certainly gives this event more meaning to me now more than ever," Credible told Slam Wrestling. "There are so many things I'm looking forward to. Getting to see all the boys again, getting to wrestle in the arena again."
