PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO BOOKMARK US & VISIT US DAILY

By Jon Koeller, Torch Team Contributor

Welcome all to the first of my two-part inaugural Indy Reports column, which I will be penning for PWTorch.com from here forward. Having just assumed this duty, I was inundated on my first day with numerous e-mails related to indy events. Thus, I have decided due to the sheer volume of information received, to provide not one, but two detailed parts of my initial report. The breakdown is as follows:

(1) This part, the part that you are reading, which will be the recent indy event results, and

(2) A forthcoming portion with upcoming indy event postings, along with some indy promotion press releases and assorted other indy news bits.

Being new to this post, I will attempt to make the Indy Reports section informative first and foremost for fans of indies, who crave news and results. Yet, I also wish to make this section fun, and a good read for all PWTorch.com visitors. Thus, if you have any suggestions for how to make the Indy Reports section a "must read" section of PWTorch.com, please, feel free to let me know them (jkoeller@pwtorch.com). I will at times be making my own commentary, and will be voicing my opinion on certain subjects of the day in the wrestling community. Yet, truly I feel that the Indy section of the website largely is intended to be the section that lets the various independent promotions "speak for themselves." Thus, with that having been said, it is time to give you, the PWTorch.com reader, some results of recent independent events:

-ADDITIONAL NOTICE: IPW would like to thanks CZW's John Zandig for giving Justice, Madison and Clark the opportunity to compete for a spot in this year's BOTB. The entire CZW crew and roster was class from top to bottom. The fans were even better, so a big thanks goes to them as well. See CZWWrestling.com for more details on this huge show and IPW-Hardcore.com for info on Justice, Steve Madison and Jerrelle Clark.

IPW, "March Badness" show, 3/14, Florida WrestlePlex - St. Petersburg, FL

The Shoalin wrecking Crew made their IPW debut last to Chaos and Prime Evil as Chaos got the pin after a DDT on a chair. Vicious and Delicious (Axis & Python, w/ Lennox and Coral) defeated Hotshot and Deathrow Jethro via a Doomsday Device on Jethro. In an IPW World Title match, Rod Steel defeated David Babylon (w/ So Cal Val) with a standing reverse swinging neck breaker. After the match, the AOD attacked Babylon badly until the referees restored order. In his first defense of the Hardcore Title, Rastaman pinned Cuban Assassin 9 (w/ Fantasy) when Rasta drop-kicked Cuban and the Hardcore belt hit Cuban in the face. After the match, Dennis "Mideon" Knight handed Rasta the belt and the two eyed each other carefully and slowly backed out of the ring. Cruiserweight Champion Naphtali defeated Roach and Jerrelle Clark in a 3-way dance for the Florida Unified Cruiserweight Title when Naphtali hit the Fountain of Death on Roach. Naturally Marvelous (Scoot Andrews and Mike Sullivan w/ XTC Jennie Lee) beat the Vandalz (Ricky and Tommy) after Scoot pinned Tommy. Before intros for the main event, The Sheik (JAPW) cut a very anti-USA, anti-IPW promo. Concession Boy took exception and jumped in the ring. His back easily gave out however, and Sheik got him in the camel clutch. Cuban Assassin and Fantasy came out and told Sheik that there would be no more anti-USA/IPW promos. As Cuban checked on Concession Boy, Sheik attacked him but was destroyed by Cuban and powdered quickly. In the Main Event, Roderick Strong (w/ Agent Steele and Tiffany) upset Buck Quartermain (w/ Val) when Strong hit the C-X. After the match, the entire AOD attacked Buck and held him while Steel slapped and berated him.

-NOTES: The crowd was very hot all night as usual, but attendance was down to about 150. The crew from JAPW impressed the fans and look to be returning in the very near future, particularly Roach who had a great match with Naphtali and Jerrelle Clark. Mikey Tenderfoot was the ref for both the World Title and Main Event, which both ended with AOD victories and post match beat downs. Mikey gave assurances that this was all a coincidence, as "he always calls it straight down the middle." In attendance was Mideon, who is starting to help this group with running the dressing room and at the gorilla position

Raven then came out and the two had a debate that ended with fists being thrown before Punk bailed out. –NOTES: For some unknown reason, the TV show did not air on Saturday morning, which really upset Landel. He had already been upset about the prior Saturday night's show being cancelled due to the Armory not being available. Anderson will not be at next Saturday's show since he will be working a show being putting on by Tim Horner. Landel would like to get some of the woman wrestlers who are going to be on the 4/19 show on a show before so he can build some angles towards that show. In Wright's absence, Sammy V & DWB worked on commentary.

–UPCOMING: Knoxville 3/22, 3/29, 4/12 (TV taping), 4/19 (all women's show).
