UFC president Dana White isn't very familiar with former WWE star Bobby Lashley, who won his MMA debut in under 50 seconds earlier this month in Miami.
White took a chance on another former WWE star, Brock Lesnar, and has panned out very well thus far for both the organization and the fighter, but White isn't ready to start bringing in more Lesnar-types with an amateur wrestling background and a WWE title reign on the resume.
"We brought in Brock Lesnar because he's a great wrestler," White said in a recent Fanhouse chat. He's a big guy, I thought he should have taken some fights in some smaller shows, but he assured me he was ready and I believed him and he was right, thank God.
At first, when Bobby Lashley's name was brought up to White, he needed an explanation on who exactly he is. White then said he recognized the name, but wasn't interested in him yet.
"I don't know how many people can cross over and do what Lesnar has done," White said. "I don't think there's many out there."
