Other News: Former UFC fighter's death being compared to Chris Benoit family tragedy (w/AP VIDEO) Dec 18, 2008 - 3:48:53 PM
When news broke this morning of the deaths of a former UFC fighter Justin Levens and his wife inside their California home, immediate comparisons were made to WWE wrestler Chris Benoit's family tragedy last summer.
ESPN.com reports this afternoon that an initial investigation has turned out to be a murder-suicide. It's not clear whether Justin or his wife, Sarah, was the murderer.
The Associated Press reported police had been called to the house in previous weeks due to suspicion of a drug overdose.
The bodies were found at their home in Laguna Nigel, Calif., and Orange County sheriff's officials say Sarah's mother discovered the incident when calls to her daughter went un-returned for "several days."
FYI (CORRECTED 12/19): Levens, who was previously in the U.S. Navy, had been suspended from UFC because he was found to have misused medication.
