-- Nominations for the 15th annual Screen Actor's Guild (SAG) Awards were announced today and Mickey Rourke was selected as one of the five finalists for Best Actor. "The Wrestler" did not receive any other nominations.

-- In an interview with reelzchannel.com, director Darren Aronofsky described the origins of "The Wrestler" movie, which started with having conversations with five wrestlers a few years ago.
Included in the mix was the now-deceased Tiger Khan, who died of a drug overdose in 2006. "We were just brainstorming and started to hear their stories," Aronofsky said about understanding the wrestling business. "The more stories we heard, the more remarkable it all became."
Aronofsky also repeated his stance from a previous interview that pro wrestlers should be part of the SAG Hollywood union because they're essentially actors. "It's criminal that they're not part of SAG," he said. "They should be part of SAG. They're acting."
