Former WWE and WCW champion Bill Goldberg will be appearing on this weekend's Hulk Hogan "Celebrity Championship Wrestling" show airing on CMT at 8:00 p.m. EST. Goldberg will coach the remaining contestants on safety prior to them performing in a "hardcore match" at the end of the show.
Goldberg is also participating in two movie projects. He recently announced on his website that he signed on for an action movie that will begin filming in the summer 2009. Goldberg is also listed for the role of "Big Bad John" in a movie titled "Fast Glass" that is currently in post-production.
Caldwell's Analysis: Bret Hart would probably find it ironic that Goldberg is appearing on a show about safety in the ring considering that at one time, Hart believed Goldberg contributed to his eventual stroke following a kick to the head at WCW Starrcade 1999 when he didn't feel Goldberg protected him.
Sort of off topic, but I am a casual MMA viewer and remember Goldberg
announcing for EliteXC? Is this the promotion Kimbo Slice was on that went
under?
Curious as how a promotion goes under that had tv on Showtime, CBS, and Fox
Sports Net. I think they are still showing the synopsis episodes on FSN.
Kind of liked the Gina chic who fought.
Any comments info on this? I am probably one of only a few people to read
a thread about Goldberg. LOL!

Elite XC was heavily in debt and had to file for bankruptcy. Apparently the
revenue generated by their shows did not cover their expenses, salaries,
etc.
I was at that Starcade and Goldberg gave Bret Hart a very stiff kick and it
made me wince from the impact at that time. I could tell it was very hard,
no Goldberg did not protect Bret in that match.
