By Chris Vetter

Torch Indy Reporter Chris Vetter sees dozens of indy shows all over the Midwest, and regularly watches & reviews indy DVDs. His reports covering the entire U.S. Indy Scene are usually published exclusively here at PWTorch.com every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

WEEKEND RESULTS, NEWS & NOTES

Ring of Honor results are below. While I read that the crowd in Manassas, Va., was a bit small, ROH officials must have been happy with it, because a return date for August was announced. The big storyline news out of ROH is that Jay Briscoe has vacated the tag titles, with his brother, Mark, out of action after wrist surgery.

Jerry Lynn made an unannounced appearance at the F1rst Wrestling show I attended on Friday in Minneapolis, winning a match over top MN heel “Playboy” Pete Huge. The crowd was perhaps 300, maybe more. Results are below.

National Wrestling Superstars boasts a crowd of more than 400 fans for their show Saturday featuring Eugene Dinsmore, Giant Silva and Blue Meanie. Results are below. On Friday in Sayreville, N.J., Bushwacker Luke was in Eugene’s corner for a tag match.

In CZW, Sabian won the annual “Best of the Best” tournament, winning a strange mix of three- and four-way matches, before defeating Chuck Taylor in the finals. However, they immediately had a rematch, and Taylor defeated Sabin for the CZW World Junior heavyweight title. Results are below.

In other news…

Scotty Too Hotty will head to EWF in Marion, Ind., on June 28. Learn more at www.EWFArena.com.

And you can always reach me with your indy results at chrisjvetter@hotmail.com. I request that you remember to say date, location (including building, city & state!), and full name of the promotion.
