WEEKEND PREVIEW, NEWS & NOTES

This is a HUGE weekend for indy wrestling!

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla in California kicks off the big weekend with a rare Friday night show. The lineup tonight features Human Tornado vs. Jack Evans, the Briscoes vs. Joey Ryan & Scott Lost, Claudio Castagnoli vs. Roderick Strong.

Also tonight, Marty Jannetty returns to EWF in Marion, Ind. Details are below.

Several big shows are on the docket for Saturday. Jersey All Pro returns to Jersey City, N.J., with Homicide & Hernandez vs. Teddy Hart & Samoa Joe, plus a match featuring Delirious.

AAW continues to be the dominant promotion in the Midwest, ant they will be at their home in Berwyn, Ill., on Saturday, with Jerry Lynn vs. Austin Aries vs. Josh Abercrombie vs. a mystery opponent, Zach Gowen & Krotch vs. Ryan Cruz & Darin Corbin. The mystery opponent will be the winner of a battle royal earlier in the show. Details are below and at www.aawrestling.com.

Combat Zone Wrestling also will be in Philadelphia, Penn., on Saturday, in the former ECW Arena, with Vordell Walker vs. Joker, DJ Hyde vs. Whacks.

One other notable indy show is a fundraiser dubbed the “Devil Bhudakahn Memorial Show”, on Saturday in Munhall, Penn., with Shirley Doe & C.J. Sensation vs. Super Hentai & Dirk Ciglar, Sterling James Keenan vs. Mr. Wrestling III, and Troy Lords vs. Jason Gory.

The PWO show planned for Lakewood, Ohio, and the NEPW show in Painesville, Ohio, on Saturday have both been canceled. Officials said they are expecting as much as two feet of snow in the area.

Sabu will wrestle for Hybrid Wrestling in Fremont, Ohio, on March 29, when he faces “M-Dogg 20” Matt Cross in a first-time-ever meeting. Learn more at www.hybridwrestling.com.
