Torch Indy Midweek Report: Aries over Cannon, Lynn, Zach Gowen, Tyler Black

By Chris Vetter

Torch Indy Reporter Chris Vetter travels thousands of miles each year to see dozens of indy shows all over the Midwest. His reports covering the entire U.S. Indy Scene are usually published exclusively here at PWTorch.com every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

MIDWEEK NEWS & NOTES

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! I yet again am running behind (I was out of town, watching Linkin Park in St. Paul on Wednesday). So, lets get to the highlights!

Austin Aries defeated Arik Cannon in AAW on Saturday. These two have had a great war over the last few years, including a match where Aries broke Cannon’s collarbone in 2004, causing Cannon to vacate the IWA Mid-South Heavyweight Title. Also on the show, Silas Young had his final indy match before leaving for WWE. Overall, it looks like another good AAW show, and results are below.

In other news…

This has been a slow two weeks for indy wrestling, but things pick up this weekend. Check out the shows below! IWC in the Pittsburgh area has a huge show on Saturday, and I’ve updated that lineup. Full Impact Pro returns in Florida, and they also have a good-looking show.

Shimmer Women’s Wrestling is nearing a sellout for its April 26 taping. The promotion has announced it only has 12 tickets remaining for sale! I’ve said it before, but Shimmer is top-notch women’s wrestling, and I urge everyone to check out “Volume 5,” as it’s my pick for best of the series.

And you can always reach me with your indy results at chrisjvetter@hotmail.com. I request that you remember to say date, location (including building, city & state!), and full name of the promotion.
