WEEKEND RESULTS, NEWS & NOTES
Welcome back! It looks like a good weekend of pro wrestling, as promotions are reporting strong crowds.
Low Ki defeated Hotstuff Hernandez in Jersey All Pro on Saturday to retain the JAPW heavyweight title, while Teddy Hart won a three-way by defeating Eddie Kingston and Homicide. JAPW is boasting a crowd of 600+ for the show, and promoter Fat Frank reportedly had good feedback on this venue in Jersey City, N.J., so JAPW will return there on March 8. Learn more at www.japw.net.
In AAW in the Chicago suburbs, the North Star Express (Ryan Cruz & Darin Corbin) defeated Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin to win the tag titles. Jerry Lynn also retained the AAW heavyweight title, forcing Jayson Reign to retire, according to the stipulation of the match. AAW reports they had a packed house; I’ve been there many times in the past, and it seats about 200.
In suburban Pittsburgh, Sandman retained the IWC heavyweight title, and Too Cold Scorpio defeated Daivari. Results of the International Wrestling Cartel show are below.
Chris Masters competed Saturday in C-Pro Entertainment in Walhalla, S.C., losing via DQ to Alan Steel.
Ring of Honor has officially acknowledged it will return to Chicago Ridge, Ill., on April 19. (Ring of Honor will be in Chicago Ridge next weekend, but they usually don’t announce the return date until the show.)
And you can always reach me with your indy results at chrisjvetter@hotmail.com. I request that you remember to say date, location (including building, city & state!), and full name of the promotion.
