Torch Indy Reporter Chris Vetter travels thousands of miles each year to see dozens of indy shows all over the Midwest. His reports covering the entire U.S. Indy Scene are usually published exclusively here at PWTorch.com every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
WEEKEND RESULTS, NEWS & NOTES
Obviously, the big shows over the weekend were in Detroit with Ring of Honor. James Caldwell has covered those events on the Torch main page, and I recommend you check out those reviews. Sadly, ROH reported today that Jimmy Jacobs tore his ACL, which usually takes 9 months to come back from. ROH said there will be a spot for him on the shows, however.
In IWA Mid-South on Saturday, Chuck Taylor scored a pinfall on Low Ki after blinding him. Results are below.
In other news…
In some HUGE news, IWA Mid-South has announced the first 9 competitors for the 2007 “Ted Petty Invitational” in September. The list includes Matt Sydal, Davey Richards, and a HUGE first-round match of Low Ki vs. Samoa Joe! I have attended the past three TPI tournaments, and it is undoubtedly the biggest annual indy event in the Midwest. Check out www.iwamidsouthwrestling.com for all the details, and start making plans to attend!
A.J. Styles also will make his return after more than a two-year absence to IWA Mid-South on May 12.
Northeast Wrestling, will hold its “Wrestlefest XI” on April 22, in Bristol, Conn., at Bristol Central High School with Kurt Angle, Christian Cage, Samoa Joe, Jay Lethal, and Xavier.
And you can always reach me with your indy results at chrisjvetter@hotmail.com. I request that you remember to say date, location (including building, city & state!), and full name of the promotion.
