Torch Indy Weekend Report: KENTA over Sydal, Christian over Sabin, JAPW news

Nov 6, 2006 - 3:23:00 PM
PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO BOOKMARK US & VISIT US DAILY

Torch Indy Reporter Chris Vetter travels thousands of miles each year to see dozens of indy shows all over the Midwest. His reports covering the entire U.S. Indy Scene are usually published exclusively here at PWTorch.com every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

WEEKEND RESULTS, NEWS & NOTES

ROH ran in Braintree, Mass., on Friday, then Philadelphia, Penn., on Saturday, and detailed accounts of those shows are posted on the main Torch site.

At Northeast Wrestling in Danbury, Conn., on Friday, Christian Cage defeated Chris Sabin, and A.J. Styles defeated Abyss. Results of that show are below.

I attended an excellent Northstar Premier Wrestling/Northern Impact Wrestling joint show Saturday, featuring the best MN indy match I’ve seen this year, as Kid Krazy defeated Joey Envy. Magnus Maximus had his final indy match on the show; he leaves for OVW this Saturday after signing his WWE developmental deal recently.

In news on future shows…

Jerry Lynn will return to Chicago-based AAW on Nov. 25, and will face Eric Priest. The main event that night will be Tyler Black vs. Marek Brave in a no rope, barbed wire match.

Jersey All Pro has announced the top matches for its return to Aberdeen, N.J., on Dec. 2. The show features A.J. Styles vs. Teddy Hart, Homicide vs. Necro Butcher, Jay Lethal & Azrieal vs. the SAT, Frankie Kazarian vs. a mystery opponent.

IWA-Mid South will debut in Muscatine, Iowa, on Dec. 15, with Low Ki and Steve Corino on the show.

CORRECTION: For whatever reason, I wrote on Friday that Ego Fantastico is 6’1”. He’s actually about 6’3” – the point I was trying to make is he’s a bit taller than the typical indy wrestler, and he should do quite well for WWE.

And you can always reach me with your indy results at chrisjvetter@hotmail.com. I request that you remember to say date, location (including building, city & state!), and full name of the promotion.
