By Chris Vetter, Torch Contributor

Torch Indy Reporter Chris Vetter travels thousands of miles each year to see dozens of indy shows all over the country. His reports covering the entire U.S. Indy Scene are usually published exclusively here at PWTorch.com every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

WEEKEND NEWS & NOTES

CM Punk is still the Ring of Honor champion after a one-hour draw on Saturday with Christopher Daniels. I’ve certainly read mixed reviews of the show, with some people unhappy with the numerous non-finishes and interference on this show.

Comedy wrestler Shane Storm won the three-day Chikara Pro “Young Lion’s Cup” tournament in Pennsylvania this weekend. Storm’s gimmick is that he is a construction worker, with a bright, goofy mask. When he holds up his construction “stop sign,” it instantly freezes his opponent in place (think Road Runner vs. Wile E Coyote.) It’s silly, but the Chikara fans like it. I personally am not a big fan. Overall, the results look like this was a good weekend of wrestling.

Bret Hart made a rare indy appearance for Border City Wrestling on Friday to sign autographs, along with Jim Neidhart and Jimmy Hart. In the main event, Petey Williams defeated Alex Shelley and A.J. Styles and Chris Sabin in a four-way. Results are below.

I attended the NWA Midwest show Saturday in Streamwood, Ill., which is a suburb in the northwest corner of Chicago. Delirious defeated Matt Sydal in a fantastic 21-minute match. Results of the show are listed below.

NWA Rocky Top in Knoxville, Tenn., claims they drew 550 fans for a show Saturday, with Dennis Condrey & Bobby Eaton defeating Ricky Morton & Tracy Smothers, and Dr. Tom Pritchard pinning Jimmy Golden. Full results are below.

Kanyon made a return to wrestling Friday when he ran to ringside during the EWE show in Florida to save Steve Madison from a beat down. Kanyon will be in a tag match at the next show. Learn more about this new promotion at www.EWEflorida.com. Full results of the show are below.

And you can always reach me with your indy results at chrisjvetter@hotmail.com. I request that you remember to say date, location (including building, city & state!), and full name of the promotion.
