PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO BOOKMARK US & VISIT US DAILY

By Chris Vetter, Torch contributor

Torch Indy Reporters Chris Vetter travels thousands of miles each year to see dozens of indy shows all over the country. His reports covering the entire U.S. Indy Scene are usually published exclusively here at PWTorch.com every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

WEEKEND PREVIEW & NOTES

With many of the top indy stars overseas this weekend, there were only a few big shows this weekend.

At IWA-MS in Highland, Ind., on Saturday, Danny Daniels retained his title by defeating B.J. Whitmer in a dog collar match. Also on the show, Matt Sydal defeated Jimmy Jacobs. Chris Candido did not appear as advertised. Full results are below.

3PW drew about 150 at Viking Hall/ECW Arena on Saturday, without having usual top names A.J. Styles or Christopher Daniels. The big match between CZW champion Ruckus and top ROH wrestler Homicide ended in a double pin. Full results are below.

At a Hustle 8 show in Tokyo, Japan, Steve Corino & Sonjay Dutt teamed up to win a tag match over Taichi Iskikari & Ryoji Sai.

I attended a Neo Pro Wrestling show Saturday in Minnesota, with Tommy Gunn defeating Mason Quinn in a tables match. Quinn has really made his mark in the Midwest in the past year, competing all across Minnesota & Wisconsin for virtually every promotion. (Quinn fought A.J. Styles at a show in Minnesota last fall.) Results of that show are below.

Brian Black won the Chaotic Wrestling Heavyweight Title Friday in Massachusetts. However, Black has signed a WWE developmental deal, and it is unclear who will now hold the title. Meanwhile, in IZW in Tempe, Ariz., it was announced that top wrestlers Mike Nox, Derick Neikirk and Big Jack Bull also have signed WWE contracts and will be reporting to the new promotion in Atlanta.

And you can always reach me with your indy results at chris.vetter@ecpc.com I request that you remember to say date, location (including building, city & state!), and full name of the promotion.
