All right, listen. Kudos to you. Really. I mean that from the bottom of my wrestling-loving heart. You have established a company with the help of a lot of solid talent. You have the opportunity to become Vince McMahon's only competition in seven long - long - years.

But, I must say, I have a bone to pick with you. You were able, through a very lucky falling-out, to acquire the talent that is Mick Foley. Once again, kudos to you. But I am left scratching my head at your use of him. He is the special enforcer at the Bound for Glory main event.

This is Mick Foley. Mick "Cane Dewey, Anti-Hardcore, Hell in a Cell, Uncle Eric, Randy Orton pushing, hardcore-icon" Foley. And TNA figures it's within their best interest to shove him in the main event as an enforcer. I just don't get it. (Oh, and I know Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett aren't technically in the main event, but who really cares about the TNA Title anymore, anyhow? Right?)

If I could put a list together of the top five things not to do with Mick Foley on his first appearance in TNA, I would have the following things on there: Use his good-natured personality to get a cheap pop from the crowd (Check). Immediately feud with Abyss (Phew). Become general manager of Impact (...still not holding my breath). Run-down his frustration with WWE (Of course. That's every former WWE wrestler's gimmick for the first 2-6 weeks). Be a special ref and/or special enforcer (Success).

Why? Why do I think it isn't the best use of Mick Foley's talents? Because he's Mick Foley. Foley is a master at ring psychology, hardcore wrestling, promo-delivering, and using his skills to establish new talent. Couldn't Foley, Jarrett, and Dixie come up with something creative for him to do? What about something with the X-Division? Using Foley to establish, highlight, and catapult young talent is proven money. Look at his matches with Shawn Michaels at Mind Games. What about his battles with Randy Orton? His hardcore feud with Edge?

It's plain and simple. What you have done, TNA, is show how desperate you truly are by sticking Foley in the middle of whatever godforsaken tunnel to nowhere you call the Jeff Jarrett and Kurt Angle feud. You want this match stacked to the brim - and Foley is just icing on the cake.

I, mean, really - do you think we're dumb? He's either going to raise Jarrett's hand at the end after he attacks Angle or he's going to clock Jarrett and side with Angle. That's it. There is no guesswork to be done. Anyone could have played this part and it wouldn't have mattered.

If this a sign of things to come, then shame on you. Mick Foley, and for that matter most of your roster, are strong contributors to your protect. Start treating them as such or your downhill ride into irrelevance will start sooner than later.
