Josh Prohibition is one of the top heels of Pro Wrestling Ohio and is currently the UWA Canadian Champion which is an independent promotion running out of Toronto. UWA’s next show is at the Bolton Fairgrounds in Bolton, ON on May 30th and 31st. The next taping for the PWO is May 24th at the Lakewood Masonic Temple in Lakewood, OH. Josh was kind enough to take some time out of his busy schedule to answer some questions that I had. The first half helps fill in the person behind the wrestler while the second half of the interview fills in his wrestling career.
Four Stupid questions:
#1. What's your favorite sport to watch? Favorite Team?
No brainer. Baseball. Cleveland Indians!
#2. What's your favorite movie? Can you give me your favorite line from it?
Field of Dreams. James Earl Jones gives a speech about baseball that pretty much sums up the sport perfectly. Here it is: “The one constant through all the years has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It's been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game, is a part of our past. It reminds us of all that once was good, and it could be again. Oh, people will come. People will most definitely come.”
#3. Who is your favorite band?
It’s a tie between Rancid and Hot Water Music
#4. As a fellow graduate of Kent State, I've got to ask how was your experience there?
I was chasing some crazy dreams when I first started out at Kent State. I was wrestling and screaming in a punk rock band. Those two things led to me failing out. Understanding Music class doesn’t seem very important when you are flying to foreign countries to wrestle. I took a year off and I got my head on straight. I decided to go back and I proceeded to make the dean’s list and graduate with a bachelor of arts in communication studies. Now I’m about to start a master of education program at Cleveland State University. I didn’t exactly have the normal college experience.
Wrestling Questions #1. How did you get into professional wrestling? Was it because you watched wrestling as a child?
-I always loved wrestling from a young age. My parents wouldn’t let me watch it when I was young so I would play hooky from church and stay home and watch it. Serves them right!
#2. Who trained you to be a professional wrestler?
Andre the Giant and Tracy Smothers
#3. How long have you been wrestling? When was your first match? Do you remember your opponent and result?
April 21st, 2001. Cleveland All Pro Wrestling. Josh Prohibition & Judge Krush vs. G-Force and Kid Rageous. We won. I cheated.
#4. On your Myspace page, you have highlights of wrestling Sonjay Dutt, Alex Shelley, Petey Williams and Jerry Lynn. What are your thoughts on these opponents?
They are all amazing workers and I’ve beaten them all. That makes me totally amazing!
- If you’d like to check out Josh’s match against Sonjay Dutt or highlights of other matches check out his MySpace page.
#5. After a taping of Pro Wrestling Ohio, what do you like to do to unwind in Cleveland?
Johnny Gargano and I like to find a couple smoking hot young ladies and show them the time of their lives!! As long as they are 18!
#6. Would you like to come on to the Audio Experience and do an audio interview to talk more about Pro Wrestling Ohio and your role there?
Sure! I’m good at talking. I was a communication major! Only problem with an audio interview is you can’t see my gorgeous face.
There are a couple of developments that are coming down the pipeline in Pro Wrestling Ohio that will require this interview to take place after I've done the next couple of show reviews. Get ready for a special edition of the DEJ Audio Experience with Josh Prohibition.
