WWE Live show results
July 25, 2015
Los Angeles, Calif. at Staples Center
Report by David Chura, PWTorch reader

Attendance was around 12-13,000.

(1) WWE tag champions Prime Time Players (Titus O'Neil & Darren Young) beat New Day (Big E. & Xavier Woods) to retain the WWE Tag Titles. New Day got tons of (playful) heat with call-and-respond and hounding fans ringside.

(2) The Miz beat Fandango with Skullcrushing Finale. Near the beginning of the match, Miz declared himself a superior dancer to Fandango and proceeded to Riverdance. Plenty of boos for that one. After Miz beat Fandango, he said he could kick anyone's butt in this building. Big Show then came out and punched him in the face.

(3) Curtis Axel & Damien Sandow beat Adam Rose & Brad Maddox. Maddox (with a listless Adam Rose) did a bit about how he was happy to be in San Diego. After the initial boos, he kept torturing the joke and it became confusing and weird. On the other side, Sandow wore black trunks and white boots, and did his old move set. Axel wore long cargo shorts and short boots (a look not dissimilar to Cena).

Next was Connor the Crusher solicitation from Lilian Garcia to donate via text.

(4) Luke Harper beat Jimmy Uso. This was arguably the second best match of the night. The crowd was into it from opening bell. Uso, after the loss, got a spotlight on him as he lurched to the back while receiving a round of applause. I don't remember any other losers getting the spotlight treatment.

(5) Randy Orton beat Sheamus with an RKO. This was fantastic, keeping everyone into the show heading into intermission. Orton was completely on, fired up throughout, connecting with the crowd, and antagonizing haters ringside. He spent a good eight minutes talking to and slapping hands with EVERY fan at ringside and up both aisleways.

[Intermission]

(6) Divas champion Nikki Bella & Alicia Fox beat B.A.D. (Naomi & NXT Women's champion Sasha Banks w/Tamina) in Divas tag action. B.A.D. came out to Naomi's music and Nikki was hugely over. Most of the qualtiy wrestling was done by Naomi.

They aired a video message from Kevin Owens saying he is going to take the U.S. Title at Battleground (even though it was a week ago). Oops.

(7) Cesaro beat Kofi Kingston via submission to the Sharpshooter. Cesaro's pop was huge. My girlfriend was screaming for him since he's like one of four wrestlers she recognizes.

(8) U.S. champion John Cena beat Kevin Owens in a Street Fight to retain the United States Title. The ,ain event was a force of nature. Owens and Cena were on their games. There were tables, chairs, and stairs, and it got brutal. At one point Owens stacked two tables on top of each other, but Cena fought out of his grasp and yanked Owens into the ring for a superplex. Later on, Owens climbed the turnbuckle for a moonsault, but Cena popped up and shoved him over through twp stacked tables! A couple of wicked stair spots later, Cena won with an AA. At some point when Owens was dominating, he took the microphone and antagonized the red-hot crowd. He looked down to a guy in front and said, "If you don't look up from your phone, I'm going to throw you to the 12th row."
