WWE NXT Results
May 16, 2015
Albany, N.Y.
Report by Danny of Kingston, N.Y.

The show was almost a packed house. There did not look to be many empty seats, just two that we saw in our section. Small arena, so the worst seats were still good seats. The sound and audio didn't come off well in the building, thought, so it was hard to understand what they were saying at times.

(1) NXT tag champs Blake & Murphy beat Enzo Amore & Big Cass (w/Carmella) to retain the NXT Tag Titles. Amore & Cass started the night off - huge reaction for both of them. Fans chanted all of the catchphrases - they were super over. Blake & Murphy came out to boos. Also, "you look stupid" chants because one of them had his hair in pigtails. Good back and forth match with a lot of false finishes. Blake & Murphy won when Blake rolled up Enzo with his feet on the ropes.

Afterwards, Big Cass threw both tag champs back in the ring, Carmella gave a low blow to one of them, and then she slapped the other one while Cass & Enzo hit their finishers.

(2) Solomon Crowe beat Bull Dempsey via submission. Better then I expected. They told the story of Bull dominating and Crowe being too small. They teased the scoopslam a few times with Crowe, and he finally hit it into his submission to force Bull to tap.

(3) Tye Dillenger beat Jason Jordan. I watch NXT regularly, but I don't remember the last time I saw Dillenger. His Perfect 10 gimmick is sort of funny; a friend of mine made an MVP comparison when MVP started out. They put on an entertaining match that Dillenger won with his finisher.

(4) NXT Women's champion Sasha Banks beat Charlotte to retain the NXT Women's Title. Both received great reactions. They had a stare-down in the ring before the bell ran and the crowd chanted, "This is awesome." Excellent match between these two. it was a good back & forth, and they told a good story. Sasha made Charlotte tap out, but everyone applauded both wrestlers after the match.

[20-25 minute intermission]

Coming out from break, I missed Baron Corbin's entrance, but saw Tommy Dreamer's entrance. He got a huge pop with an "ECW" chant breaking out when he was on stage.

(5) Baron Corbin beat Tommy Dreamer. This was a good match as well. Tommy hit the DDT, but Corbin kicked out. Tommy had a few close pins, but Corbin came back with power moves. He won with the End of Days in what was a good, somewhat lengthy match.

(6) Bayley & Alexa Bliss beat Becky Lynch & Dana Brooke. Becky and Dana came out to separate entrances - Lynch got a good response, but Brooke got boos. Next out, Alexa Bliss got some cheers, and Bayley got a huge response. Everyone chanted for her and did her arm movements. It was a good match. Bayley got the crowd into a lot and eventually hit the Bayley-to-Belly for the win.

Next was the Main Event for the NXT Title. Tyler Breeze came out to a lot of cheers and a "Breeze is gorgeous" chant. Technical difficulties then happened as Finn Balor did not come out for a few minutes. He then came out to no music, so he hyped up the crowd with the arm movements he does to his music. Someone threw him a Gatorade and he did Triple H's water-spit routine. The music came on as he was in the ring and he did his usual routine. NXT champ Kevin Owens then came out to a great reaction - there wer a lot of "KO" shirts that I saw tonight.

(7) NXT champion Kevin Owens beat Finn Balor and Tyler Breeze in a three-way match to retain the NXT Title. Owens left the ring as the match started, leaving Breeze and Balor to fight. Owens was sitting down as Balor hit a big suplex, so Owens got up and clapped in a sarcastic manner. He finally came into the ring to attack Balor. He and Breeze worked together, which was entertaining. Owens would tell Breeze what to do, yelling "double clothesline," then Breeze went for a high-five, but Owens faked high-fiving him. Breeze then wanted a double suplex on Balor, which they did. Owens went for a high-five, but Breeze didn't move his arm, so Owens grabbed his arm and forced him to give the high-five. Owens did a five knuckle shuffle to Balor. They fought on the stage with Balor giving him his double diving foot stomp off the stage. He also landed it on Breeze in the ring, but he kicked out. Owens came back in and beat on both of them. He skipped around the ring in a funny way to clothesline them back and forth. Owens hit a Swanton bomb during the match, which I did not see coming. The finish came when Balor was on the top rope and Owens had Breeze on his shoulders. They teased the Road Warriors Doomsday Device, but Breeze hopped off and superkicked Balor. Breeze then turned around into a powerbomb by Owens for the three count.

This was a great show, all in all. It cost me $20 for my ticket, and I definitely got my money's worth. The wrestlers were entertaining but treated the matches like they were real, like they wanted to win. I didn't think there was one bad match to be honest that I didn't enjoy. Dreamer was a nice surprise, the women's title and NXT title bouts were the best two matches, and hopefully they come out again.
