Philadelphia, Pa. Night 2
Report by VIP member Tyler Blue

Greg Hamilton was out to MC. He gave a brief recap of Thursday's show. Jojo then opened things with a wonderful performance of the National Anthem.

Tyler Breeze cut a heel promo on Philly, mentioning that they deserve him as champion because the Eagles aren't winning any championships soon. He also knocked cheesesteaks, which get him good heat from the crowd. Chants of "We love cheesesteaks." Enzo Amore and Big Cass then came out to interrupt Breeze. Enzo and Cass are incredibly over, of note. They also brought cheesesteaks to the ring. Amore said he gets his toasted so the rolls are hard unlike Breeze who is... well, you know how it goes.

(1) Enzo Amore & Big Cass beat Tyler Breeze & Bull Dempsey, who was Tyler's mystery partner. Enzo offered Bull some of his cheesesteak at the start of the match, but Breeze told him no. Great comedy spots. Best comedy wresling I've seen in a long while. Cass and Enzo ended up chasing Breeze around the ring until Bull helped his partner, but Bull got winded chasing them around ring. Hard to explain but it was hilarious. Bull is not afraid to make fun of himself and that endeared him to the crowd somewhat. Enzo eventually beat Bull via assisted top-rope splash.

Tye Dillinger is still working this new "Perfect 10" gimmick. He came out to chants of "ten" and held up a sign that read "three" and pointed to Bull. Breeze then stopped Bull from taking a bite of the cheesesteak that was placed on his chest by Enzo. Bull punched Breeze anyways and took a bite to a loud ovation.

(2) Dana Brooke beat Alexa Bliss. Despite "You can't wrestle" chants, Dana looked better in the ring tonight than on TV. She won via pinfall with some sort of fireman's carry sit-out slam. Dillinger came out again with a 9 this time, which got booed, so he turned it over to make it a 6.

Next, Baron Corbin came out to an incredible amount of boos and "ECW" chants. The boos were so loud that you could not hear Corbin's promo. Joey Styles came out to Original ECW theme music and introduced the innovator of violence, Tommy Dreamer (not Bully Ray).

(3) Tommy Dreamer beat Baron Corbin. "You still got it" following early shine for Dreamer. The fight spills to the outside and Dreamer hits Corbin with cans of soda and beer from the crowd. Baron took control and commenced a beat down. Dreamer with a DDT for a nearfall, then set up for a Death Valley Driver, but got countered and hit with the End of Days. Dillinger then came out with a 0. Styles got in his face and shoved Dillinger into the arms of a waiting Dreamer, who hit him with a DDT.

(4) NXT Women's champion Sasha Banks beat Charlotte, Bayley, and Becky Lynch in a four-way match to retain the Women's Title. Huge pops for Bayley and Sasha. Frantic action early on. Sasha and Bayley battled into the crowd and some of the highlights included a huge double spear by Charlotte, top-rope missile dropkick by Becky, and an incredible superplex double powerbomb spot. Bayley hit the Bayley-to-belly suplex on Becky Lynch, but Sasha threw Bayley out of the ring and stole the pinfall victory. All of the women received a standing ovation for an amazing match. Bayley, Becky, and Charlotte raised each other's hands at the entranceway. Incredible match. Not sure how the men's main event will top it, but I can't wait to see.

(5) NXT tag champions Blake & Murphy beat Jason Jordan & Solomon Crowe to retain the NXT Tag Titles. After Crowe took a beat down, Jordan got the hot tag and delivered several huge overhead belly-to-belly suplexes. Angle Slam for the nearfall and the crowd was loving it. Stretch Muffler and anklelock applied in tandem and the crowd thought they might see a title change, but the champs escaped and Blake and Murphy hit a brainbuster/frog splash combo for the win. Much better match than expected, Crowe and Jordan worked very well together, and Jordan got over with his athleticism and suplexing.

(6) Finn Balor beat NXT champion Kevin Owens via DQ; Owens retained the NXT Title. Balor entered from the crowd as the demon. Incredible ovations for both men. Owens exited the ring as soon as the match started. Owens is a natural-born heel and plays off the crowd so well. Following "Cena sucks" chants, Owens did a "You can't see me," capturing why he is great. Finn hit a stomp to the back of the head for a nearfall, then Owens hit a Swanson bomb for a nearfall. Standing ovation for both men. Finn with a Pele kick and a brainbuster, but Owens kicked out at two. After a dropkick to the corner, Balor set up for the Coup de Gras, but Owens rolled out and grabbed a chair. He attacks Balor with it on the outside, causing a DQ.

Post-match, Balor and Owens brawled into the crowd area until the locker room came out to break up the fight. Balor climbed one of the railings and dove onto the group of wrestlers. After trying to get backstage, Owens was stopped and thrown into the ring by Finn, who delivered Coup de Gras. This was followed by an extended standing ovation. Awesome 25-minute match and though I hate to see a DQ finish in NXT, it was necessary to preserve the aura of the demon.

Fantastic show. I liked it more than the first night, but not by a lot because those guys and girls tore the house down two nights in a row.
