Phoenix, Ariz.
Report by Brian Alston of Phoenix, 24-Year Pro Wrestling Torch Subscriber

WWE's house show was at the Talking Stick Resort Arena (formerly known as the U.S. Airways Center). Hard to estimate the crowd, but the lower bowl was 99 percent full and the upper deck was empty except facing the stage. Let's say 9,990.

Triple H welcomed us to the show via video. He got booed.

(1) Jack Swagger beat Adam Rose via submission. Rose worked the crowd before the match, dismissed the Rosebuds, and got jeered. A kid behind me said, "Where's the Bunny?" A ton of "We the People" shouts.

(2) R. Truth pinned Fandango (w/Rosa Mendez). Truth was over with the fans. The referee saw Rosa hit Truth and ejected her from ringside. Fandango was upset, then Truth came up from behind and rolled up Fandango. Afterwards, Truth invited seven kids into the ring to say "What's Up!"

(3) Erick Rowan beat Bo Dallas. Bo attacked Rowan before the bell. Rowan recovered and tore through Dallas. Afterwards Bo complained and said he would never come back to Phoenix.

(4) Zack Ryder beat Bo Dallas. Ryder got in all of his moves and got the quick pin. Bo did the crying baby routine in the ring.

(5) WWE tag champions Cesaro & Tyson Kidd beat New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods), Prime Time Players (Titus O'Neil & Darren Young), and The Ascension (Konnor & Viktor) in a Fatal Four-Way elimination match to retain the WWE Tag Titles. Cesaro & Kidd said they were better than several classic WWE tag team champs. New Day got a good pop. For the first elimination, Ascension pinned Titus with the Fall of Man. Xavier sold for most of the match, but when Ascension started brawling with Kidd and Cesaro, Xavier pinned Viktor. Kofi finally got the hot tag and worked over Cesaro. However, Cesaro won with his feet on the ropes.

Conner the Crusher's video showed. Lot's of applause.

(6) Ryback beat U.S. champion Rusev via DQ; Ryback retained the U.S. Title. No Lana and the crowd wondered why. Rusev demanded that he be introduced first. Tons of heat on Rusev, who hit Ryback with the title to get DQ'ed. Ryback dispatched Rusev after the match.

[Intermission. Several WrestleMania videos.]

(7) Goldust pinned Stardust. Lots of "Cody" and "Let's Go Goldust" chants. Stardust ran out of the ring a lot during the match.

(8) Divas champion Nikki Bella beat Paige to retain the Divas Title. Phoenix voted that Brie would able to stay at ringside. Brie provided the distraction and Nikki got the pin. The crowd was 50/50, but Paige got cheered at the top of the entrance ramp.

(9) John Cena & Randy Orton beat Seth Rollins & Big Show in the main event. Easily the biggest pop for the faces and most crowd heat for the heels, including several "You sold out" chants. Cena sold for the majority of the match. Randy finally got the tag and fought Rollins. When Show tried to sneak in, Cena gave him the Attitude Adjustment. Orton RKO'ed Rollins for the clean pin.

- Notes: Typical house show - mostly families with a lot of little kids. ... The "Let's Go Cena" chant easily beat "Cena Sucks" in the main event battle. ... While I didn't see any good/unusual signs, the majority were for Cena. ... The only classic merchandize I saw was Randy Savage shirts. I didn't see Hogan, Austin, or Rock shirts. The lines were long to buy stuff. Masks for Rowan, Sting, Goldust, and Stardust were popular.

- Biggest pops: Cena/Orton, Ryback, Truth, Swagger, and Bella Twins.

- Most boos: Rusev, Big Show/Rollins, and Stardust.
