Canton, Ohio
Report by Michael Cupach @MJCupach, former PWTorch All-Star

(1) Jack Swagger beat Titus O'Neil via submission in 8:00 after Titus tapped out to the Patriot Lock. The crowd was hot for the opening match and was into the "We the People" chant.

(2) Los Matadores & El Torito beat Heath Slater & Curtis Axel & Hornswoggle in 10:00 in a six-man tag match. Torito pinned Hornswoggle after a springboard moonsault. Hornswoggle got a good face pop.

(3) R-Truth beat Fandango (w/Rosa Mendes) in 6:00 with a roll-up. The crowd ate up the "What's Up" and other chants that Truth started. Fandango, on the other hand, only got heat when he did his one gyrating dance move and even that wore thin with the crowd. The zero heat of the night award goes to Rosa Mendes, who garnered no reaction from the crowd when she slapped Truth behind the refs back. She is a hot mess on Total Divas (or so I hear), but did not contribute in any capacity to this match.

-Connor The Crusher promo aired. It was the same one shown on the WrestleMania "24/7" show. The crowd applauded at the end. They also made a point during the promo that Triple H and Stephanie McMahon started a charity for Connor that has raised $200,000 to date for families going through similar situations. It came across like, "Hey, look at what we do, see we are good people and only play bad guys on TV," and out of place with the rest of the package.

-WWE Network ad.

--Chris Jericho came out of a strong ovation and it was supposed to be a Highlight Reel, but he had no guests. He talked for a few minutes about how The Authority have ruined WWE and that he should be in charge. He also said that Triple H stands for "Huge Horrible Honker" and then started to call Stephanie a "ho" but wouldn't say it because it is a PG show. This was a mere minute after calling Stephanie and Hunter jackasses. Luke Harper's music played and he walked out, said nothing, and then stared at Jericho until Chris challenged him to a match.

(4) Chris Jericho beat Luke Harper in 8:00 with The Codebreaker. Solid match. Good reactions for Jericho and Harper. Up to this point, Harper was the first heel to get heel heat.

-Bray Wyatt came out and played to the crowd. He encouraged his "fireflies" and started leading the crowd in singing. Dean Ambrose's music cut him off and Dean got a monster pop.

(5) Dean Ambrose beat Bray Wyatt in 9:00 with Dirty Deeds. The crowd was very into the match and split 65/35 for Ambrose vs. "Let's Go Wyatt" chants. It's a house show, but I was shocked to see Bray lose to Ambrose, especially if they are getting him ready for The Undertaker. This was by far the best match of the night.

-WrestleMania Reading Challenge promo aired.

[Intermission. JoJo came out and asked the crowd if they are ready for Roman Reigns tonight and the place erupted, but I felt that Dean got a better pop a few minutes earlier. She then said that they were selling autographed pictures of Paige, Ambrose, and Reigns at the merchandise stand. She held up each picture to poll the audience. Ambrose got the loudest reaction, then Reigns, then Paige.]

(6) Natalya & Paige beat Alicia Fox & Sasha Banks via submission in 8:00 when Natalya made Sasha tap out to the Sharpshooter. Natalya got a huge reaction. The crowd loved her and Paige through the whole match and popped for whatever they did. After the match, both girls went around ringside a few times taking photos with fans. I couldn't believe how over Nattie was.

-The Miz and Damien Mizdow came out next. Miz would not let Mizdow play to the audience, which led to him doing it behind Miz's back and then pretending like nothing happened. Miz showed a clip from Raw when he fired Mizdow as his stunt double. The Usos came out and led the crowd in boo'ing Miz, cheering Mizdow, and a "Miz sucks" chant.

(7) WWE tag champions The Usos beat The Miz & Damien Sandow in 8:00 to retain the WWE Tag Titles when one of The Usos pinned Miz after a double superkick. Miz insisted that Damien get a chair and sit in the corner the whole match and watch him work. The chair kept sliding off the apron and Mizdow was holding on for dear life so he wouldn't fall, kind of unintentionally funny. The crowd loved Mizdow and vociferously hated The Miz, who Miz refused to tag in Mizdow, but Damien tagged himself in and did two or three moves before Miz tagged back in. Miz then yelled at Damien and made him move his chair to the floor, which is when he got pinned.

-U.S. champion Rusev and Lana came out next and talked about Russia being the greatest country in the world and that Vladmir Putin is the greatest leader. The crowd boo'ed through the whole promo and Lana eventually gave up. The crowd thought this was the Reigns match and was absolutely deflated when Erick Rowan came out.

(8) U.S. champion Rusev (w/Lana) beat Erick Rowan in 4:00 to retain the U.S. Title when Rowan passed out in The Accolade. Huge heat for Rusev, silence for Rowan. Rowan is floundering without Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper with him. That is what you get when you have a face turn for no reason and no explanation given.

(9) Roman Reigns beat Big Show in 18:00 in a Canton Street Fight. Reaction of the night went to Reigns when he finally made his entrance. Big Show got his heat when he tried quitting before the match started because this was not how he wanted to spend his birthday. Big Show dominated the match, and Reigns had little offense. Reigns kicked out of a chokeslam, a chokeslam through a table, and a KO Punch. Also, Reigns debuted a new move - a clothesline! Reigns got the pin after spearing Show through a table!

-Overall, the venue seats about 4,000 and was 75-90 percent full. Good turn out for the event. Lots of kids with families and the kids were very vocal throughout the show.

-Top Reactions: Reigns, Ambrose, Mizdow, Natalya.

-Biggest Heat: Miz, Rusev.
