January 31, 2015
Albuquerque, N.M. at Tingley Coliseum
Report by Dave Kosin, PWTorch reader

Very, very few empty seats. The crowd was loud and full of families with kids.

(1) Dolph Ziggler beat IC champion Bad News Barrett via pinfall in a non-title match. Barrett began with a promo saying he'd heard "rumors" there were people in the crowd who didn't like him, who DID like Ziggler, and who wished Ziggler was Intercontinental Champion. Well, he's afraid he's got some bad news. Ziggler just got re-hired and he has to wait his turn for a title shot. Good match as you'd expect with these two. Ziggler eventually took it with a Zig-Zag. The crowd was happy.

(2) Sin Cara & Los Matadores beat Fandango & Curtis Axel & Titus O'Neil via pinfall in a six-man tag team match. No sign of El Torito, much to my disappointment. Standard tag team match. Sin Cara eventually scored the pinfall. I can't remember how because I was bored.

(3) Natalya beat Alicia Fox via submission. Huge pop when Eden Stiles announced a Divas match. Maybe that was just the kids in my section, but they sure were excited. The ladies got some time to work, going almost 10 minutes, but there were a lot of restholds and heelish behavior by Foxy in that time. Natalya got the win with the Sharpshooter.

Next was a WWE Network plug for Fast Lane and a Connor the Crusher package. Eden implored the crowd to either stop by the merchandise tables and buy Connor's Cure bracelets or text to donate.

Next, Eden revealed the result of a vote prior to the show: Should Daniel Bryan vs. Bray Wyatt be a 2/3 Falls match or not? Guess what won.

(4) Daniel Bryan beat Bray Wyatt 2-1 in a two-out-of-three falls match. Very good match between these two. It took a while to get to the first fall, which came when Wyatt whacked Bryan over the head with a kendo stick for a DQ. The second fall came just seconds after the restart via Sister Abigail. Bryan rallied and finished off Wyatt with the running knee for the decisive fall.

After the match, Bryan took time to thank the originator of the "Yes!" chant, Albuquerque's own Diego Sanchez, who was at ringside. Huge pop for Sanchez.

[Intermission]

Next was New Day vs. Rhodes Bros. ina tag match. Stardust wanted to know if we had seen the big news on WWE's Twitter account earlier in the day: Survivor Series is coming to Tingley Coliseum in 2016! Huge pop. Of course, Stardust was lying. He said we're too cheap for Survivor Series. Xavier Woods, with his leg still in a cast, said that the Dust Brothers don't subscribe to the WWE Network (which is, of course, $9.99 AND free in February) so they're the cheap ones. I couldn't have rolled my eyes any harder.

(5) New Day (Kofi Kingston & Big E. w/Xavier Woods) beat Goldust & Stardust via pinfall. The match was forgettable until the end, when Stardust went for a Disaster Kick off the top rope and hit Goldy by mistake. That was enough for the New Day to score the win. Moderately loud, mostly positive crowd response to New Day throughout the match.

(6) Dean Ambrose beat Luke Harper via pinfall. Solid pop for Ambrose. A fine match considering it involved Luke Harper. After Harper countered Dean's rebound lariat move, Dean just did it again and won via Dirty Deeds a short time later.

(7) John Cena beat Seth Rollins via pinfall in an Albuquerque Street Fight. Enormous pop from the very young audience for Cena, and huge heat for Rollins. An above-average match featuring chairs, two tables, a very heelish mid-match promo from Rollins, and a hot crowd. Cena put Rollins through a table first, but Rollins kicked out. That led to the parade of finishers and nearfalls. After the second table came out, Cena AA'd Rollins through it for the win. The crowd went home very happy. If a return date was announced, I couldn't hear it over the thousands of shrieking children.

Overall, Cena had the biggest pop by a thousand miles, with Bryan coming in behind him. Biggest heat was for Rollins, with Wyatt not too far behind. A very enjoyable show, though it was interesting to see the faces win each match. I'm guessing they felt out the audience pretty well early in the night and it paid off, as the crowd was into it the whole way. Nicely done, WWE.
