WWE Holiday Tour results
December 29, 2014
Richmond, Va.
Report by VIP member Bryant Nowlin

(1) Roman Reigns beat Kane in about two minutes. They went quick and first to get Reigns to Raw in Washington, D.C.!

(2) Titus O'Neil & Hornswoggle & Tyler Breeze beat Los Matadores & El Torito in a six-man tag match.

(3) Sin Cara beat Justin Gabriel. Great match with plenty of highspots and a few false finishes.

(4) New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods w/Big E.) beat the Rhodes Bros. (Goldust & Cody Rhodes). Cody cut a promo calling Richmond a "wretched hive of scum and villainy, a black hole." Almost no pop for New Day, especially considering the promo. Big E. took the mic (dressed in slacks), and claimed that his grandad got him a VCU Rams shirt and a subscription to the Network for only... $9.99. Dustin pointed out a fan in the crowd and told him to shut his mouth. Big E. took the mic back, snapped a selfie with the fan, mentioned Richmond again, and now the crowd was vocal and into the match. Lots of heelish, scaredy-cat tactics from the Dust Brothers. A few "Let's Go Kofi" chants, three false finishes, and Kofi scored a clean pinfall over Cody with a big pop.

[Intermission]

(5) After intermission, Santino hosted a six-woman Divas tag match. Huge pop for Charlotte here in Flair Country. She brought her NXT belt with her; five out of six of the Divas wee dressed in Santa outfits.

(6) Curtis Axel beat Adam Rose. Rose cut a decent but somewhat redundant heel promo. Axel got a surprise win while Rose was distracted by his (significantly reduced amount of) Rosebuds.

(7) Dean Ambrose beat Bray Wyatt in the main event. "Okay" match, but nothing special.

Overall, it was a good night considering Raw was two hours away. You could tell a few of the guys/gals didn't want to be here, but a decent card for a house show: I was mildly entertained... Ambrose-Wyatt comes across a little better in person because of the crowd reaction, which is to be expected. Seeing it in person is a little better than seeing it 14 times on TV, so I'm glad I made the drive down the road to see it.
