WWE announcer Jerry Lawler wrestled his first match since suffering an on-air heart attack nearly nine months ago in September 2012. According to Dory Funk, Jr.'s Bang TV promotion, Lawler was "declared in excellent physical condition," following a blood pressure examination administered by Funk's physician.
Lawler, who was booked to win an eight-person tag match, tweeted about his return match: "Thanks to WWE Hall of Famer Dory Funk, Jr for being my partner in my in ring return against some of his students! Everything went well."
In the main event eight-person tag match, Lawler started the match for his team. According to the promotion, the match went more than 15 minutes before finishing with one of the opposing heels, Hollywood Heather, slapping Lawler, who responded with a piledriver for the three count. Bang is playing up an angle that video footage will not be released until Heather is "medically cleared" following the piledriver.
