Feb 18, 2012 - 5:16:15 PM
Ring of Honor results
February 17, 2012
Cincinnati, Ohio
Report by Robert Ruddick, PWTorch reader
(1) Michael Elgin pinned Adam Cole after a spinning powerbomb.
(2) Shiloh Jonze & Rudy Switchblade defeated Sean Casey & Chris Silvio after a Switchblade frogsplash to advance in the Rise and Prove Tag Team tournament.
(3) Shane Haste & Mikey Nicholls defeated Alabama Attitude to advance in the Rise and Prove Tag Team tournament.
(4) Roderick Strong defeated Eddie Edwards after a nasty shot to the head with the Book of Truth in a No Holds Barred Match.
(5) Samson Walker pinned Mike Mondo.
(6) Shane Haste & Mikey Nicholls defeated Shloh Jonze & Rudy Switchblade to win the right to face the ROH Tag Team champions in a Proving Ground match.
(7) ROH TV champion Jay Lethal pinned B.J. Whitmer after a Lethal Injection in the last minute of a Proving Ground match.
(8) ROH tag champions The Briscoes defeated Davey Richards & Kyle O'Reilly to retain the ROH Tag Titles.
This was the first show in Cincinnati for ROH. Looking at the OVW-heavy line-up, you might think this was at best a card saved by three matches. But, with the exception of the first tag match and the Mike Mondo match, the card was outstanding. Shane Haste & Mikey Nicholls tried to play heel by running down Cincinnati, but by the end of their first match the fans were cheering them. In the finals, the fans were cheering their every move, and booing Jonze & Switchblade. Strong-Edwards was a great match that featured Edwards hitting a double stomp off the top rope putting Strong through a table on the outside of the ring. The main event was as hard hitting as you would expect. All in all, a great show with a hot crowd.
